No ,I didn't ask him. I myself enjoy watching the squirrels jumping from a tree of mine to a tree of his. I got to watch a squirrel-woodpecker quarrel in his yard. The woodpeckers were fussing at the squirrel going in their hole.

Why do more wolves = fewer coyotes? Do you not include wolf-coyote hybrids in your coyote population counts?

wolves search out and kill coyotes

coyotes will also gang up and attack young wolves

and!! I saw some video shot by one researcher that was very interesting -- started out with coyotes chasing a couple of yearling wolves, then the rest of the pack turned up and the wolves were chasing the coyotes, until...

the chase flushed out a cougar - amazingly, it was then "all dogs together" - they all turned and chased the cougar - luckily for it there was scrawny tree on the rocky bench they were on, so it escaped.
