I bought with buy it now from one seller that had in his terms I had 30 days, I took the 30 days and spent about 6X as much on his auctions I won to combine shipping. Sometimes trust is worth it, as there where a lot of things I also bid the price up on, but didn't win.... Food for thought.

Also- I don't do 30 day payment terms most people wouldn't do that. I prefer buyers who have money when they agree to buy, and then pay me. I'm not a vendor FYI. rjp

UPDATE
Sold the laptop incidentally to someone who lives in my aunt's neighborhood in WA- go figure. Buyer actually exceeded my buy it now price (I had it buy it now for $575- bidding went to $605 and she won) bonus, I got more money. 4/26/2011 Packed it securely, included a nice neoprene case with everything and had it shipped out within 24 hours. 5/3/2011 - Buyer gets laptop- I get email insisting there is "redness" on the unit-as in red staining around the edges. I don't recall having the unit stained on the edges. She says it's there, probably from "the case it was in"- I'm thinking to myself it's a neoprene case sitting against a polycarbonate case, by BS / scam meter is going crazy about now- she was asking for $40 to get a snap on cover for the laptop. I agreed, and proposed she gives me positive feedback first and then I'll refund her $40. After a bit of hemming and hawing she did, and I promptly paid her- primarily since she went over the buy it now and I suspected at the time she felt a bit foolish about that so I refunded her the money. SHe states in the email she is "otherwise happy with laptop" thanks me for the money and as agreed she had positive feedback for me. No mention of any other issues. Yesterday, 5/14/2011 I get this msg from her thru ebay saying she's having issues with computer going to sleep while it's in use, drives are making funny noises, etc. etc. and she discovered a "large crack" on the back of the laptop, it's making all kinds of creeking noises, all that. I had the laptop checked at the local Apple store prior to sale- they plugged it in, gave it a full evaluation and it passed all tests with flying colors and they gave me a receipt showing so. Everything was beautiful- this was done just before the auction and I posted a screenshot of the receipt showing all was well as a selling point. Of course, when I got the email I politely reminded her the laptop was checked by Apple themselves, and she had a copy of the receipt showing that and I still had one in my possession as well. By now my BS meter is going nuts again, and I'm getting pissed, some words were exchanged and I straight up told the buyer I thought she was trying to screw me over and there are no issues with that laptop per Apple, and the refund before was simply as a goodwill gesture because she overbid. I literally told her to "pound sand" and to go to Ebay and file that complaint. last night I get a msg from ebay telling me funds are held and there is an open dispute. I replied to the dispute requesting that the dispute be escalated to a CSR- ebay wants the buyer and seller to try to work it out first before they intervene, but I had made my decision. I typed out my story, and told them to look in my Ebay msgs to see her correspondence and the fact she made NO NOTE of any cosmetic cracks as of 5/3 and yesterday was the first time I heard of that issue with the computer. I also told them to see the ad for the copy of the receipt from Apple showing the unit is GOOD. (cont)

part 2
That was last night.
This AM, I called Ebay and got a nice CSR named Kim who I explained everything, incidentally she needed my permission to look in my Ebay msgs and she noted the buyer stated the laptop was fine as of 5/3 and was "happy with it" She then gave me a fax # to send the Apple receipt to- so I complied. This afternoon I get this- looks like I won: ![]() Due to the documentation and the fact I kept the msgs. in my ebay box as proof everything was fine I won the decision. Who says Ebay always screws the seller? Oh, and as soon as I rec'd it in my inbox I politely notified the buyer of the outcome: ![]() Moral of the story, post PLENTY of pics on EBAY of the condition of items, and never communicate with a seller outside using direct email to email- keep everything inside ebay messaging. Document the condition of your goods with a valid 3rd party source if possible. rjp

Yes, Ebay is trying to do better. I had an issue with a deadbeat buyer that left neg feedback after I told him that I would issue a nonpaying bidder complaint and also leave him neg feedback. (Silly me, I didn't even realize I could leave him any feedback at all). I complained and they left a number for me to call. Skeptical, I called, got a person within minutes and got the feedback removed.

It was quite a nice experience. Considering we started this tiff at 9:30 PM last night and I had resolution NOW that was great.
I was afraid they were just going to rubber stamp me and make me issue a refund - regardless of what I wrote. rjp

I sold a guitar to a born again jerk a few years ago, who whined and moaned that I had butchered it. I described it perfectly in the listing. I was on a business trip when he started complaining, so I said I'd be in touch once I got home. He left me neutral feedback and the comment, "Item as described, but not as expected." What a bag o'douche. But his comment makes him look a lot worse than it does me.

I was just mad at the fact this chick thought she could just straight up lie and get away with it.
I was motivated to finish it, so I did. Taught her a lesson on ebay etiquette- don't screw with people. She's obviously a Democrat FYI. You can tell by the false claims. rjp
