Hell no! I wasn't going ship $1000 guitar overseas to a stranger before getting paid.

Hey Randy - sounds to me like you have a scammer on your hands. They are drawn to those macbooks for some reason. I would go ahead and file a non-paying bidder claim and relist it. Be sure to require payment upon purchase next time.

Do not accept a check for this item - I don't care if it is from one of the big three banks. You'll regret it in a month when the bank calls you back and says "whoops - it isn't any good." It can take that long for them to figure it out.

Sweet.

- according to ebay I have to wait like 4 days before I can file...Then wait another 4

that wouldn't have stopped him from bidding.

what i found helps is to minimize the number of places you will ship and accept bids from. this eliminates most of the scammers.

i would report the bidder for non-paying bidder immediately and report them for being an underage bidder. the non-paying bidder alert will get them 'poked' by ebay and the underage bidder will get them a phone call and/or their user information investigated.

I doubt eBay is going to go along with a NPB claim a day after listing end. Unless you have it on email from the buyer that they're refusing to pay, you probably have to wait it out a while. I filed a fraud claim about 10 yrs. ago and won. But it took a long time. And eBay doesn't like answering questions. They like making you find the answer on their site and sending you links, if you're lucky.

I have to wait 4 days before I file "non payer' system wont let me until then. then, wait 4 days as ebay attempts to email seller and if no response then I get a credit.

in reality it's no big deal- I still have to transfer data and I'm glad now I'm not in a rush- I have to send this thing into the Apple store to have the "genius" give me a receipt for a clean bill of health-

should make it sell even faster next time- may raise my price anyhow, assuming I just don't get sentimental and keep it.

I really have no reason to sell it. Keep it as my travel piece

$40 for shipping of two heads....ok maybe they will do a good job-

reuse a old box, use minimal tape and a little news paper and ship USPS cheep-

this is the first negative feedback I have given

I only accept paypal or nothing, I'll take the 3% hit for a sale.

Cashiers check, no way. I've had a many-multi-thousand dollar cashiers check from a major bank bounce on me from a fellow pelican buying my 911 built motor and 915 tranny. I put a hold on the check before I shipped cross country USA . bouncey bounce went the check. He overnighted a second one, trust me I put a hold on that too for it to clear, which it did.

the other thing is- I have to follow the rules to preserve my 100% perfect feedback- I'm not an official seller but I've been on Ebay since 2002-

2nd thing is paypal can sometimes hold funds on computers and cell phones becausee of fraud unless you have good feedback - so that could make it a real PITA in the future.

It's great selling an item and waiting 21 days to get paid on it because the buyer is too lazy to put nice feedback.

Some guy I'd never heard of and had no wholesaler agreement with was selling subscriptions to our magazines. He was closing winning bids of $10 when our distributor price is $15, so either he was happy to lose $5 per sale or he was running a scam. I emailed and then called eBay and told them there was a scam going on. They said they hadn't gotten any complaints from buyers, it was none of my business, and they weren't going to interfere with the transactions.
I kept telling them, "This guy is selling an item he doesn't own and he has no way of obtaining. He's promising the buyer that in 8-12 weeks I am going to deliver it. I can guarantee you that even if I ever see the order will not deliver it." Same answer from eBay, "This is none of your business. It is between the buyer and seller." He had hundreds of titles for sale - every magazine you can imagine. I don't know how many people got ripped off, but eBay didn't care.

I'm not into zero feedback buyers ending my listing on "buy it now" only to email me 2 hrs later saying they are having problems setting up a Paypal account.

You buy- you pay ASAP.

trust is NOT one of my stronger qualities- especially with what ebay qualifies as a "high-risk" item (means funds get held)

Meh, I don't think so. I researched and there technically is no way to restrict by usage #'s-

only by area. You can check the box at the bottom that pretty much excludes all our enemies-

I always seem to get requests from UK and Russia- i've actually shipped a few things destined for that place.

huh. wasn't me. i am a bit surprised that they were laissez faire about it. some sellers went to jail, while i worked there, for doing similar stuff.
