The sad thing is that I'm getting ready to go START mowing. I could wait until later, but I don't mind. I'll take frequent breaks to keep cool and hydrated.

Not very, and since it's been so dry, it was quick and easy. I'm done mowing. I may wait a bit to weed eat.

I water. I have some plants in my yard that were my grandfathers, then moved to my parents house, and now I have them in my yard. I don't water for the grass, I water for the plants.

We got some beautiful clouds in, and we have a 20% chance of rain for the next 2 days, but I'm not holding my breath. It's supposed to be cooler starting Tue.

We hit 100° at about 11:30 and held it until 5:45. Ugh.

I spent 2 days in Phoenix once. I know they say it's the humidity which is true, but when the heat is THAT high, it sucks humidity or not.

It just poured at my parents house. 1/2 mile away at my house, hardly anything.

it was just about 80 here. We out on a bike ride first time in many years. Our state might tell us what kind of light bulbs we can use, but I sure wouldn't trade for 100+ weather.

S&R, where are you located? I'm in LOEN, near Eldridge and West Little York.

Had a pool party yesterday at 249 and the belt and around 4:30 had a nice rainstorm. Just long enough to give me time to fire up the grill and eat a hot dog before going back into the pool.

I thought we were in a drought?

It's so dry in Texas that the Baptists are starting to baptize by sprinkling, the Methodists are using wet-wipes, the Presbyterians are giving rain checks and the Catholics are praying for the wine to turn back into water.

I guess the front has hit. No rain, but the temp has gone down 10° in the last hour. Woo Hoo, it's only 90°.

I'm going to go get out my long pants and my jackets!!

got hit with a severe storm a few hours ago about 25 miles north of home. winds well over 20mph, hurricane type rain and lightning all around and I'm sitting under a metal awning at a stainless steel picnic table.. time to go..could barely see the road coming home and then the hail started pounding my truck. windshield has a new bullseye chip and much longer cracks now. Halfway home we had left it behind but the storm has followed me it seems. should be breaking loose here soon. I'm not sure what was louder .. the lightning or the sucking sounds coming from the dry ground as it finally gets a long cool drink of water
