'Dawg: Great engine photo from Sebring! Glad to hear that you're mobile again...
Gabe: Regarding plans for our model: We can all chip in and buy her a fireproof bikini, or we have one of the camera geeks photoshop the rear end shot so that it just LOOKS like she's standing right over the ass end of the car. Personally, I prefer option 1. ___________________ Steve 1989 930S Factory Slant |

Digging this Fünf Gruppen thing. I don't have a 930, but I've got something that can keep up. Looking forward to more posts and the FG site as it develops. Wish I could get my R to the east coast for the next Turbopalozza, but might have to wait until one happens out this way. Keep up all the good work guys.

Not very important, but the racing series was called "Gruppe 5", spelled Gruppe Fünf, 1977-1981, replaced by Gruppe C.
Fünf Gruppen means five groups (of something), Gruppe 5 in contrast group #5... For information only

Still, fixing that means another engine drop, so maybe time to put in closer gears and other stuff - makes a good christmas present to it from me!! ![]() Alex

Gabe and i were aware that 'Gruppen' is the plural of 'Gruppe' or Group, but we went with Gruppen for two reasons. First, to distinguish us from the already extant and well known 'R Gruppe' here in the US, and Second, we wanted the plural 'Gruppen', to be symbolically inclusive of all owners of the iterations of the turbocharged aircooled flat-6, from the seminal 930 through the 993TT, and of course racing versions. Sort of a 'play on words' if you will, with Group 5 being the focus as it most succinctly sums up Porsche's fanatical, no-holds barred quest for turbocharged horsepower from the flat-6 in a drive for total domination... which is what we are about. BTW, did you ever find a source for the ducted rear flares you were asking me about? This is your car, yes? Beautiful. ![]() It would be fairly easy to modify your existing flares to accept the RSR style rear ducts. Are your rear flares fiberglass or steel?

Hi juicersr
No, did not find any ducts, but I did not searched intensive. But if, they would be too expensive and not bolt on anyway. Flares are steel. So with this facts in mind I'll start to make my own ones out of GRP this winter like I did my wing before... And yes, this is my car, thank you

Hey guys, as promised the new BB is up and running so feel free to check it out!
The wait for our new home and place of misguided non-sensical idiocy and horsepower goodness is over! Again, not to take away from this community which has proved invaluable for research, get togethers etc. this new forum is just a place to get us knuckle heads away from the good people and so we can run free and have a great time doing what we do best and to focus only on that which we have a passion and obsession for.

Gabriel has working his azz off on getting the forum up and running, so just wanted to publicly give him a hand. Keep in mind that there are still a few kinks to work out, so be patient if it is a little 'clunky' for starters... kinda like early phase of EFI tuning
![]() Anyhow, all of you guys asking about a FG badge, well here it is. ![]() The Phoenix seemed an appropriate symbol of the modifying of these cars (both historically and by everyone here) to make them stonger, faster and the unfolding wings emblematic of the quest for ground effects to keep these things glued... plus we just thought it looked cool, similar to some of the German WW2 fighter squadron emblems. We will be playing around with the colors, and the badge itself will probably just be the circle without the borders. Coming soon in decal and badge form to a FungGruppen store near you What do you guys think?
