A carbon film to cover the dingy black plastic intake, fan and heater block off.

Fake carbon fiber is stupid. Especially on a precision magnesium casting (the fan and shroud). That doesn't even look like carbon fiber.

Take a pill kid, Vic my engine builder and I are having a little fun. ;)
Like yourself he has a serious side too, he built the 962 engine that came in 2nd at LeMans in 85.
Don't worry no plans for this film on the 962 he is restoring.
What are your 911 qualifications, just photos and canyon drives? :p

Forgot how those engines looked in the M1's
Was a Facility Engineer at the Detroit Tank Plant back in the early 80's
Oversaw M1 haul and engine assembly areas
Still could not believe how FAST those M1's were on the test track

Turbines are funny, everything is larger than the engine.

The transmission is larger, the air infiltration filters/ducts are larger, the fuel tank is larger..............even my body is larger.:D

Well I'm with you here but I know your feedback well enough to know you're a function over form guy like myself. I put an extra effort into appreciating the peacocks of the automotive world because I think it makes me more well-rounded and understanding. Last summer I saw a woodgrain vinyl rap on the intercooler tubing and intake manifold of a 400+HP build. Different strokes ... at least it's entertaining.

Flieger 03-06-2014 07:28 PM

It is just the fakiness of it. If it were a real carbon fiber fan it would be cool. Or a fiberglass one like a 917.

I saw a doco on the rebuilding of the M1's. The engines are not available new anymore.
They have no option but to rebuild the ones they have.
