Singer creates 500-hp air-cooled 964 engine with Williams and Hans Mezger Porsche 964 reimagined by Singer with 4.0-liter 500-hp air-cooled engine http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1515035827.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1515035827.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1515035827.jpg Quote:

Was able to purchase a new C5R block and callies crank this fall. The $$/power equation of the LS series of engines and the performance of C5/6 vettes makes other endeavors look questionable. |

Here's a new one on me - the Ford GAA.
WWII era all aluminum flat-plane crank V8! DOHC (4 shaft driven cams), 32v, dual carbed, 1100cid, dual plug, and dual magneto. Ford rated it at around 500HP at 2600 rpm and roughly 28000 units were produced, mostly for the (crappy) Sherman Tank. in full military dress it weighed approx 1000lbs; today, many versions have been restored and at around 675 lbs can be made to produce 2000 reliable HP. As delivered for the military: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1516478523.JPG Various modifieds: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1516478523.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1516478523.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1516478523.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1516478523.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1516478523.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1516478523.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1516478523.jpg |
"(crappy) Sherman Tank."?
Do you know how many Sherman Tanks and variations were produced over the years? And how many nations used them? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1516499014.jpg |

Chrysler A57
"Five Chrysler 250.6 cu in (4.1 L) (bore 3.4375 in, stroke 4.5 in) flat-head inline six cylinder engines were arranged around a central shaft, producing a unique 30-cylinder 21-litre (1,253 cu in) engine in a relatively compact but heavy package. The crankshafts were fitted with gears, which drove a sun gear arrangement. With iron block and head,[1] it featured Carter TD-1 carburetors and 6.2:1 compression ratio, for an output of 370 hp (280 kW) at 2400 rpm." Interesting, but with dismal output: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1516551082.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1516551082.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1516551082.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1516551082.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1516551082.jpg I guess we were so unprepared for war, so that were open to anything... |
