The final figures came in at 540 hp and 530 ft lbs of torque through mufflers which is somewhat “mild” compared other Side Oilers, but it met my goal of keeping the motor streetable so my wife could drive it. I still have some detail work ahead before installation (change disty cap, spark plug wires need to be cut to the proper length, touch-up oil pan, replace oil adapter, mount the factory style fuel filter, etc.). I'll start another thread when I get the ball rolling.

Post a vid! I can't belive the torque that it made! Sure thought that it would make closer to 600 hp. What gears and tire size are you thinking? What trans?

That Peugeot (diesel?) looks to be largely carved of one chunk...but I think it must be an end plate that makes it appear that way.

Nothing exotic or rare. It is MY engine almost ready to go back in the car. It came out for a re-seal. It had oil leaks everywhere. Those are gone. It will be great to have a dry floor. 146,000 miles and still a very solid engine.

Anyone know the story or engine type on this twin fan model at the museum. Apparently it was a 911 prototype. I can't find a better photo:

I could make out the characters in the photo - The engine is a typ 745; a 2,0l flat six.
