A 427 Roadster built by Shelby. Here is a work in progress pic from the cell phone.

You might laugh but could not believe it the first time I landed in Moscow... they were using old jet engines mounted on a flatbed truck with the exhaust nozzle ducted at an angle downwards and sideways to blow and melt snow off of the taxiways and parking stands. Noisy as hell but eventually worked!

It's a NOS Side Oiler I found this past summer with high riser heads and a high riser 2x4 intake. I replaced the HR heads, intake, carbs along with the Lemans crank and rods with newer, lighter parts. The block was bored to 4.25 but I kept the stock stroke of 3.78, the heads are Keith Craft Stage II, and the intake is a Blue Thunder 2x4. I won't know where the final hp figures will be until next weekend but I'm hoping it will be in the neighborhood of 525 +/-. The story behind this engine is actually the builder himself. He got his break with Connie Kalitta at Bristol back in the 60's and later on he worked on the GT40 program and with Holman Moody before Ford pulled the plug on racing. It's taken over four months for him to complete the engine but good things are worth waiting for!

I couldn't imagine trying to drive that light weight roadster with a rev-happy monster ported 427+ I would want as close to race tires on the street as I could. I love over kill on hp to weight and this is it.

The hydraulic roller cam is a Keith Craft "special" recipe that matches the flow capacity of the heads as well as other parameters (gearing, trans, weight, fuel). I don't have the specs readily available but to give you an idea of the profile, I think the lift is over .600". I've thought about starting a build thread here but I remind myself this is a Porsche site......sorta like selling ice to an eskimo. BTW, the tires are Goodyear Billboards.
