Yep... it got off to a fast start. They didn't waste anytime offing another character this time.

Im surprised Herschel didnt make a cameo. Just about every one else did. Or, maybe he was dead before Tyrese showed up. Cant remember.

******SPOILER ALERT*****
I know it's just a dumb show, but I was sad to see Tyrese - "The Hammer" - go! But, WOW, they wasted no time in kicking off this season with a bang!

The big problem I had with last night's episode was the journey they took. They went from Atlanta to outside Richmond Virginia (~500 miles) in the span of one episode when they had spent roughly five and a half seasons around Atlanta. Sure, the new surroundings open them up to more different character interactions, but still... 50 mile radius for five seasons and 500 miles in 40 minutes? And in a Suburban? Come on. That thing only gets around 14~15 mpg tops. Pick a mini-van or a Prius. ![]() And another thing, what has happened to all the new cars? Seems like they only pick busted up old rides for journeys. I know some people had problems with them driving around in a new Hyundai that was manufactured after the start of the zombie apocalypse (apparently the zombies in Korea were still building and shipping cars), but find a new car dealership and get a better ride.

I was meaning the length of one episode (~40 minutes.) Just strange that the writers and producers skipped over going through South Carolina and North Carolina like they were just miles on a map and didn't devote any time to that journey. They spent a whole season on Herschel's farm and another season at the Prison, but only a few seconds showing road signs for NC and SC so they could get Noah to Virginia. I understand the reason for the Journey, as it was Beth's last wish, but I just found it odd that they didn't spend more time (or episodes) on the trip there.

The way gas goes bad in my mower/generator in 6 months, I'm amazed they can find cars that run at all 2 or 3 years into this ;-)
Not surprised the big guy is gone, he was signed for another TV show on SiFi... No sure if that is any indication but (probably the case) so did the actor that plays Noah ! Don't get too attached ! I like the show but to me season #1 was the best. The way they're killing off characters is both admirable in a way, and dangerous to the following of the show... Storytelling doesn't have to cover every single detail despite what guys like Peter Jackson would have you believe. |

It just seems like the writers sometimes get tired of writing for some characters and decide to kill them off. I think Tyreese was one of those characters.

Anybody else wonder about the scene at the end, where Marchonne whacks the zombie in the neck with her sword but it doesn't penetrate? Are they getting tougher?
Edit: Nevermind, guess I missed the piece of rebar in the zombie neck. Last edited by onewhippedpuppy; 02-10-2015 at 05:38 PM.. |

The show is starting to be a little like a dragged out wizard of oz.
Why so much focus on the radio news flashbacks with tyrell? What was that about? It was more than just a connection to his father. The news broadcast were talking about military strategies and actions etc.

Last night's episode was a little hard to watch. Sasha shooting a few dogs and then Ricks like, "Barbecue time..." It was like watching the Donner party meets Rin Tin Tin. Talk about the dog days of summer...
Maggie seems to have lost it but not as bad as Sasha. I thought I saw Sasha nick Abraham in the shoulder with her knife as she was slashing away. Abraham on the other hand was too busy getting liquored up. Listening to the comments from Rosita, this has happened before. What is up with Daryl burning cigarettes in his hand? From the time it was shown on the screen, looks like he has done it before. The two characters that I call into question for the time being are Father Gabriel and the new J-Crew model, Aaron. I don't trust either of them. And, by the way....ROSITA NEEDS MOAR LINES AND MOAR SCREEN TIME...

Agree on more screen time for Rosita... I read a comment online about last night's show saying "wouldn't it be funny if Aaron asked if anybody had seen his dogs." That comment cracked me up. They need to build the action a bit more.

First time I'm bored end to end in a walking dead episode... since maybe an episode at the farm. But hey, nobody died!! The second half of this season definitely has a different feel. Same director???
