This is what I rolled around in as a kid. My folks bought it new, and it was retired in 1986. Check out the tagline in the lower right corner of the advertisment...pretty funny.

Yeah, the GTO was just too bland looking for the US market IMO. This is exactly why I liked it- looked like a Grand-Am, but was pretty quick. They have a pretty nice exhaust note as well...
