Conclusion, Raptor's are badass like trucks, with the badass taken out so you can drive to work..
pointless compromise that serves no purpose, as it makes em good at nothing,except guzzling expensive fuel.

All vehicles are compromises. All of them. Pick what you are going to live with and what you cannot live with - makes the list shorter.
As far as the Raptor goes, it's pretty fast, handles decently on-road, VERY credible off-road (OJU - compared to a stock vehicle in the 50-60K price range), is comfortable, seats a full family, can tow a trailer, throw stuff in the bed AND **COMES WITH 5/60 warranty** What's not to like? Make mine ORANGE please! That would be the ticket! Red hair, estrogen and a giant ORANGE truck! YEAH BABY!  angela

Frames are a little weak for that off roading stuff.....

Well a lot of interesting comments
I never wanted a pickup truck, but if i'm going to get one it better be cool and functional, hell i'm coming from a cayenne turbo.... I need to haul a family, kayaks, fishing gear, a trailer, dog, and beer, so why not do it with a 410hp truck with different looks, good suspension, and a few toys? I'll want to be doing a little weeknd off roading as well. If you load up the regular truck say the Harley version, or a loaded escalade, etc. the cost is close, so why not go for it? We'll see what the new year does to the 2011 prices... Bob

The frame bending is a real concern with the Raptor - we had one in our booth at SEMA this year - and unless you do some real mods to the suspension (hydraulic bump stops, etc) or run some extra box frame, don't run it up rough terrain - you will bend the frame if it remains stock.
Ford is trying really, really hard to deny any problems - but it is all over the Raptor boards. Oh - this is pre-running
