I saw one in traffic yesterday, first time I can remember. Big truck, it stood out even with the normal crowd of SUV's around. Cool looking truck. I wouldnt have guessed the price tag though, but I'm out of the loop on new cars I guess.

If anyone ever asks "What's the best vehicle for running the Baja?", God help us all.
![]() For the record I still think the Raptor is cool, and I love my Land Rover.

Bob,
A fellow I work with has one. Uses it for work. (Alberta) He says it uses a bit more fuel than his previous 5.4L Ford pickup. Noticeably more if you drive more aggressively. He says he "loves it". It is a four door crewcab model with the new 6 point whatever engine. We travel on everything from smooth pavement to gravel to washboard to punched out logging roads to rough construction right-of-ways. On the rougher roads, the extra suspension travel and quality dampening gives a compliant ride where the normal pickups are starting to lose their composure and / or bottom out. He is probably using it in the conditions where it best "shines", and what it is actually designed for. (pretty sure he isn't going to race it, or even flog it in the slightest) It was probably Ford's marketing department that decided on the big splash decals and a promoting its' off road prowess, in visual advertising or otherwise, that made some people perceive that it was a more serious off-roader. Pretty simple IMO, it is a regular, heavy, pickup with some extra suspension travel and quality dampeners. If you respect that you'll be fine. Remember, once the suspension is bottomed out, it's F= M x A. And there is a lot of "M" there putting a lot of "F" on a F-150 frame.

Thanks Max, long time no hear,
Yes that sounds just like how i want to use it, no i'm not going to be jumping it or thinking i know how to race Baja. Gas well i drive a cayenne turbo i just can't pull a trailer too far without finding a service station. The owners i've talked to love the truck and didn't have any gripes, but it's a new xpensive truck. I was only looking atbthe 4 door and it had a lot of room in the rear, really surprised me. I still like it and will be looking more in the new year, especially for a slightly used one, anyone looking for a badass pepper wagon? ![]() To most of the others thanks for the replies, and OJ, i could have sworn I asked if anyone, you officially become my second block EVER. Ramble on as long as you want now I won't see it. Fin

Uno is out of his mind, as usual. Uice truck for the extra $$$ and can handle the weekend warrior well. Wider, longer travel, fox shocks, good weekend truck. i live in Socal, have had a few 5-1600 and 5 Unlimited cars, Suspension Unlimited Rails, (Larry La Victoria Race Cars basically) so i have been around as much or more as UNo. Had many 2x4 trucks, including a Jeep Commanche. most often Question? How did you get out here in 2x4 without getting stuck? Brains and power. My bros pre run and race, they love the Raptor. Chevy Diesel in a Pre runner? too heavy, fuel sucks in Baja. Doesn't matter thoufgh. Most Raptors are in the posh hoods of Socal, next to the Panamaras, Masers, and Ferarri's.

Bob,
If I had the money I'd trade my truck ASAP. IMO that is the best looking truck and more capable than others.

I recently read a story of 14 trucks in desert only to return with 10 bent frames. Ford did not warranty the damage. Lets see if I can find the link.
