I read somewhere a long time ago for a human to be able to fly he/she would have to have chest muscles 4 feet thick. Don't remember what the wingspan was.

And I don't want to see that human in the chest thread!

They would need hollow bones and be a lot less overall mass. The heaviest bird that can fly is about 40 lbs.

I heard the oil companies bought up that invention to keep it from replacing gas guzzling SUVs.
