Ian - I'm there only Monday and Tuesday. I'll pop by. We are outside between the two main buildings - Corplex. We'll have our newest HD mobile units at the Alliance party Monday night at Pieros.

It was called Kristofers but it has a new name now. We have eaten there numerous times due to convenience. Not bad for a cheaper option. But the Riv is seriously tired. Very convenient to the CC & cheap, though.

Another standard in Vegas. Last time we went - 3 years ago - the food & the service seriously sucked. My best time @ Piero's, we had a table right next to a large table of porn stars who were in town for the awards. It was a strange evening.
One of many . . . Ian

There's Gallagher's in Ny, Ny which wasn't bad when I ate there years ago.

Peiro's is an "interesting place". I always have Goodfellas flashbacks.

There's a sizzler over on Bonanza and another on south Eastern ave. just east of the strip.
Pretty sure they got both colors of wine fresh from the box ......

I like steak but my favorite in LV is Il Mulino for Italian.

You should check out Panevino for Italian. It is a just beside the southern boundary of the airport, so you have to cab to it, but everybody we have taken has been very impressed.
My favorite: Le Circe in Bellagio. Equal of a 1-2* Michelin in Paris imho. Get the Dégustation menu. Haven't been in years, however. I remember, back in the early '80s, Vegas only had 2 great restaurants. André's & Pamplemousse. A very different town back then. Ian

The Ranch House...been there since back in the day when all the Casino Fellas used to take their GF's there...so that they wouldn't get seen and reported on to their wives ...at one time the Fellas were getting robbed as they left the place, cause the robbers knew it would never get reported to the Police...So they have been in business 40 to 50 years at least...
The place is a Ranch Style House that has been converted to a Restruant...they do their Steaks and Ribs right over a blazing Hot Mesquite Fire... 95 N to Ann Road and rt on Ann Road and follow the signs... When I first moved here it was all vacant land around the place...now houses..

U can get good food on the Strip and Downtown which is a bit cheaper...BUT U is gona get HOSED doin it...I don't like gettin hosed so I don't go to those places... If ya look around town you find a lot of good places that are in fact better than the joints for the RUBEs on the Strip and for a lot less dinero. I discovered a Korean Supermarket...Green Market...that has a Food Court where you can get of all things authentic Korean Food... Also the Chinese 168 Market on Jones and Spring Mountain has a real nice fast food type Chinese restaurant inside..that looks real good. Marianas Mexican Market on Sahara and Valley view also has a restaurant inside which has about the best Mexican food in LV. Also on Jones and Spring Mountain is the Jones Market which specializes in Eastern European foods...or the Polish Deli on Charleston just S of Jones... U wouldn't think that a town out in the middle of the fking desert would have such a cosmopolitan variety of food choices..but it is all right here...and in abundance.

A 5AM wakeup. 6 hour flight including 1 hour delay for a plane fix. Then 8 hours on the cc floor for setup. It was a long day, so we slummed & went to the steakhouse at the Riv. Now called R. 8/10 for my $36 10 oz filet. Well-cooked with a great - and very different - peppercorn sauce that had us all guessing about its spicing. Strip steak was also very good. The appetizers were good but not great. Desserts sucked. Service acceptable. Overall a 14/20 feed. Not a bad cheaper option.
Sorry no pics. I was very tired. Ian Wine: 07 Jordan was OK but no star

Just to give you the rest of the full restaurant review:
2) Joe’s Crab Shack – Caesar’s Forum Shoppes – I was talked into giving up Lindo Michoacan for this POS. Everything was subpar – steaks, seafood, appetizers. The steaks had a slight metallic liver twinge, fish had crab shells etc etc . . . Avoid. $465 for 5 including an ’07 Jordan. 3) SW Steak – Wynn – I had a major standoff with the maître d here. On my 2nd trip to his desk for seating, I asked him “How ballistic do you want me to be? Calm? Medium? Or full scale scene?” He then made the mistake of saying it would be ready in 10 seconds. So I counted it down in front of him – much to the amusement of the surrounding patrons & my co-workers. He let me finish & admitted that it would be about 5 more minutes – which it was. The meal was very good with the exception of the strange steak sauces. A ketchup-tasting red. A boring béarnaise. Or a mango-jalapeno? Mango on beef? Are they nuts? The wine list had truly obscene prices. $511 for 3 including an ’07 Rosso di Montalcino. 4) Pizza night was a major hit with our own wine tasting of 4 interesting bottles. The Rioja & the Cote Rotie won by a landslide but the Rotie needs a few more years. $270 for 7. ![]() 5) The Steak House – Circus Circus – This restaurant has been around a long time. Very old school with a limited menu that they aced. The steaks were superb. Plain. No spicing. Just good meat. I didn’t see the bill but it was a lot cheaper than above. Very limited wine list. A pic of the massive prime rib. ![]() 6) Lindo Michoacan – Desert Inn Rd – Our 3rd time here & it was excellent once more. A great variety of choices, fresh flour tortillas, wonderful margaritas with a free shuttle to the strip. Ask to taste their: cry today & cry tomorrow chili sauce. $260 for 5. The 20 x 20 where I spent 32 + hours. We had a 5.1 demo using the awesome Crossroads 2010 BluRay. Our neighbors loved our music. ![]() Some Pcar content compliments of GoPro. Their short video of their camera in use was amazing. ![]() Ian

Who pays the bill for your Restaurant hopping?????? Are U sure you are not GSA????
I fking told ya expensive does not necessarily MEAN GOOD....and that just about EVERYTHING on the Strip is OVERPRICED...Jerrys Nugget for $10 has just about the BESTEST PR going in LV....The Bellagio Buffet has as good of quality food as ANY of the fking rests you visited...it is up to U not to eat like a pig... Lido Michocan...is BLAHHHH Mexican food....I have yet to find a decent Mexican Rest in LV...the best so far is in the Mexican Markets...served on Styrofoam Plates... Manuel El Tepach in EAST LA Homieeee...

The Strip is like going to a Carnie or a Circus..the whole plan is to relieve you of the weight in your wallet...one would think that by paying out some of that weight you are getting something good for your dollar..If you believe that I have some land for you to buy...they put shyte on a Board and call it GOOD...mediocre, average, sub par, crummy, lousy...are all appropriate adjectives. This place is much like Hunter Thompson described it back in his Fear and Loathing days...Styrofoam and Plastic with all the bells and whistles to try and con you that you had a wonderfully special dining experience...distraction is the LV magic trick....
Now if ou take aways some of that glitter and glitz hoopla you might find some real in this case food that of all things might be served on those styrofoam plates.. at least here they are being honest about the plates and are not tryiing to con you that you are eating something better than what the standard styrofoam fare is.. But it is the fools that keep this place in business so come on in, sit down, enjoy the show and hand over your wallet...there is more than one type of one armed bandits in this town. People should never forget that BIG CORPORATIONS run this town...and as such you get a cheap plastic experience..In the old day swhen this place was run by the guys who talked funny you actually got something of quality because they demanded it...they gave you a wonderfull experience to compensate for cleaning out your wallet at the tables..so you went home broke but with a satiated smile on your face...so that you couldn't wait to save up so that you could do it all over again...Today they try and clean you out on everything that you do..

We do. We saved $500 per night by staying at the Riviera versus the Mirage, Venetian, Luxor etc etc. After 9 hours on our feet per day, we don't want a feed - we want pizzazz. When was the last time you setup, worked & dismantled a 4 day show? I worked 10 last year so I don't feel any remorse. I also didn't gamble a dime . . .

And U got Pizzazzzz...and you paid for it now didn't you...that is what LV is all about selling Pizazzzz and precious little else... I would rather have a nice tasting meal that I can enjoy at a reasonable price...a high price without quality would leave a sour taste in my mouth...
