I just had another round of photos of my colon. A new procedure with a box of food and drugs. The happy colon kit. Yep, really. It is much gentler than the “go lightly” drink.
Everything came out ok. No polyps no problems. Yea.

I think it’s great that right after guys get checked out for colon cancer they practically run to the nearest grease joint for a double delux cheese bacon bomb and large fries.

I've never done one. My doc gave me this small packet where I have to put this paper in the toilet and then I can poop. Stick this probe in 3 places in the poop, seal the probe and mail it in. It has been months since I got the kit and can't get myself to do it. lol

Oh yeah real funny. That is how I first learned I had blood in my stool. From there it was discovered I had colon cancer. Don't be a pussy and do it. It saved my life it could save yours.

I had the procedure done this year. It was 15 years when I had my first one. I had the test on a Monday so I all day Sunday to prep. I'm glad I did it on the Sunday. I was in my own home drinking the not bad tasting lime liquid to clean myself out. The procedure was painless and I got a clean bill of health. I'm at an age I won't need one anymore -

For those of you dreading it, don't put this off -

Doing my starvation and prep today for my first one tomorrow. Any clear liquid food better than another for warding off hunger?

Can I have a martini tonight if I don't eat the olive? Will I even want one?

I like how they tell you that the meds they give you will make you forget the procedure. Not that the procedure was bad or anything.

A college buddy who's an MD asked to not be put out during his scope, as he wanted to watch it on the display and discuss with the doctor while he was in there. He said it was pretty unpleasant.

I said it before, and I still believe it: The doc come in the recovery room and give you a report, and tells you to fart at will, as they pump in gas to help they see. He does NOT put a time limit on the doctors orders to fart at will. So let em rip!

I didn't think it was that bad, or as bad as everyone made it sound at least. We discussed everything. Said I need to eat less smoked meats.

I will say he sure didn't take his time to account for comfort.

“Flushing”. You mean the bowels, or the toilet, or.....

Oh, I get it! Double entendre!

Removed 10 polyps from mine, waiting on biopsies.

The worst part was the 4+ hours sitting on the throne over the course of the 2 stage prep. Was in and out of the clinic in barely more than an hour with much of the time disappearing in an instant. Afterwards there was just some mild stomach cramping following by a hundred farts. Doc said there were 2 single sessile 4mm non-bleeding polyps of benign appearance that were removed. I head back in a few weeks for results. Now I won’t fear the next one which hopefully I won’t need for 10 years.

The doc suggested I come back in 3 years. A polyp was close to cancer.

Usually if they find polyps at all, they want the 5 year annuity plan, um check up plan.

Better safe than sorry.

And this is the reason to get this procedure done so it can get detected early .

Exactly. The place I had it done was in Palo Alto CA. IMO they are nice and very well organized. This is the second time with the same doctor.
