A bunch of guys with jobs, big beautiful houses, garages full of cars and motorcycle, a kitchen full of food, and easy access to medical assistance... are whining on the Internet about how bad the world is.

A whole talk radio industry has sprung up whose programing is meanness toward and vilification of an entire segment of our society. There are a couple of local radio stations whose programming is 24 hours of targeting people, building straw men, and tearing them down. They are fairly popular, and that kind of constant meanness and negativity has to have an effect on people.

I've heard that from a couple of veges or vegans I have "partaken of" but have never seen any real studies supporting it. The idea is that hormones in the meat somehow (magically?) pass thru your GI tract intact and add to yours, without being broken down by stomach acids, enzymes, etc.

The irony is that a vegan who reheats her veges in a plastic container (e.g. uwave) is getting a nice load of pthalates introduced into the food, these are known estrogen mimics.

There are tons of contaminants inmost drinking water - people eliminate into a sanitary sewer (if you are lucky!) BUT many chemically active compounds (drugs) are NOT broken down in the sewage plants and wind up in the river, not to mention what ever they do to seafood you eat.

My advice: Do Not Live Downstream.

Maybe it just that the modern world makes it easier to be angry as one can be insulated from the results and maybe the overload in information available increases the tendency.

I don't think things are worse now. Remember 2 major big time wars were fought in the 20th century. I work with a diverse group of tough people and I never hear the kind of arguments that we have on here all the time. People can pretty much say what they want on the net because they know nobodys going to put a foot up their butt--------------sideways.

I would say that during times of plenty people become satiated and thus complacent. During times of scarcity people will become stressed and have shorter fuses. America has been on the curve of ever increasing scarcity since the 70's.

944 Larry, respectfully, bar room/water cooler banter as I refer to it on the internet is the last place to feel safe or feel invincible. Unlike the water cooler or bar room, on the internet it is there for ALL to see and ALL to retrieve at a later point in time. Those 20th century folks who hid behind the bar or water cooler were dildos in comparison as it only went as far as the bar or water cooler. With e-mail, texting, and internet, if you say something, you can pretty much assume that it's there for a long, long time. Plenty of time to mine, filter, check, cross-check, and identify, and well use it against you, like putting a foot sideways up one's bung-hole.

That's why my M.O. is never say something you wouldn't say to the public or someone's face. Note: that pretty much means I have no future as a politician due to my say it like it is attitude.

Yes it is. Does NOT even need to be a discussion.

People show their anger and they don't give a hankerin .

People today show no shame.
People today do not respect the public laws.
People today usually have no care about ,even how they are percieved in public.

Too many people as in population-and this makes others unaccountable for wrong doings-the blame is spread so far and becomes so thin . This is the worst of goverment as well. This is a tactic they use for blame or liability.

Lack of religion that would assure most followers that they are accountable in the afterlife.

- Younger parents- I.E Kids having Kids. Stupid is as stupid doe's.
