Every time I download a new version some more of my music disappears. If it hasn't been bought from iTunes they slowly and quietly erase it from your playlist. My entire blues collection of 200 songs is gone, fortunately I stored them all on a classic iPod and it doesn't get connected for "updates."

I changed my preferences such that it installs the music as an mp3.
This format can be used elsewhere, the acc version, not |

Interesting. Can I skip that whole ACC version crap and just allow my whole library to be mp3? Will mp3's play on my ipod?

Supe,
Try letting Media Player rip the CD and use Sharepod to move the files between devices. Share pod lets you go both ways from device to pc and back. Pretty intuitive if you're comfortable with Win Explorer select drag and drop type of functionality.
