Correct response:

It has sort have been said.... Apparently the older gentleman perceived that the innocent hug was between a leacher and his trollop and felt a need to verbalize his disgust. Perhaps there was something to support that perception BUT my guess is that the gentleman is really a leacher himself and hangs out in malls checking out the ladies. AND is denial on how he projects his proclivities on others.

Diagnosis - Ephebphilia, denial, projection - no charge.

Its a good bet that there have been complaints about this gentleman.

RE: Stupid people,

I'm at my supermarket (where I shop two three times a week).

I get in line... after a minute a guy walks up behind me and says "hey, you stole my place in line!"

My first thought was "WTF is this high school?"

My second though was "I was standing here and you walked up behind me, HOW COULD I HAVE POSSIBLY CUT IN FRONT OF YOU?"

My third though was "this guy is on drugs or mentally unstable"

He only had three or four items so I said "you are tripping dude, but whatever, it is not that big of a deal." and let him go in front of me.

I know... speeder would have givin him "the hand" :D

There is a great line in the film, "Glengary Glen Ross", that I always reference back to:

"If you don't know the shot, keep your *&^%ing mouth shut!"

Totally agree, everyone's annoyance level and response should be just like mine.

Should have been more clear - everyone's entitled to their opinion, but the world would go a LOT smoother if they were polite enough to keep it to themselves. (I was going to write "mature enough" but the elderly are among the worst offenders).

Somewhere along the line, America took this turn towards selfishness - no one has the right to criticize anything we do, no matter how stupid, dangerous or offensive, but by jingo if we see someone doing something we don't like, we can read them the riot act.

Take the whole breastfeeding in public controversy - it's happened since time immemorial, and some people have disapproved all along. I remember my grandparents making us swap seats when a woman in view was doing it at a diner back in the 60s. Now, people call the manager, call the police, go to court and demand the world change to suit their sensibilities rather than adjust.

Recently here in AZ... Grandpa goes to Barnes & Noble to look for books for his grandkids. Woman who sees him child-free in the kids' section complains, then he's escorted out of the store by B&N employees.

Scottsdale man accusing Barnes & Noble of sex bias

After this went public...

That is incredible! Never heard of anything so stupid.

speeder 06-07-2012 09:24 AM

That's outrageous.
