A vet Tech from where I used to take Tundra called me as she needs to re-home him; unfortunately my days are just too long and about to get longer, but I volunteered to take him for a few weekends to get him used to other people and hopefully using his wheels.

His back legs spasm or he has minor control of them and in the grass, he kind of does a weird almost disturbing bouncing motion and he sort of runs around.

He needs back wheels.

He’s got a set and finally we’ve been able to walk the whole way around the block in them; first couple weekends he would only go about 2 blocks.

My previous paralyzed guy, Tundra would easily walk 2 to 6 miles a day! That dude loved the freedom.

Very true my friend. On that morning! I had just walked into briefing and watched the second plane hit. I will never forget that moment for the rest of my life. We then went on full tactical alert after that and remained for a long time. We were the only thing flying in the region, very surreal to say the very least.

Like the event in “86” when in school, while watching the shuttle launch in our school library and the tragedy that followed, I still remember thinking to myself, “Did this really just happen?”

Interesting what sticks with us at times like this. Sharp memories on day, time, sights and smells. Honed to the smallest of details.
