Thanks for sharing this photo. It caries dynamic qualities it's hard to put into words!!. This is one that would be fantastic framed or matted on the wall or as a desktop.

There is no doubt that there are others on the board that also have equally great shots such as this. It actually got me started thinking about a member compilation of dog photos that we could compile into a Callander, then maybe they could be offered for possible donations to assist with med bills such as Jake's situation. Unlike what seems to be more common in the UK or EU, pet health insurance is more a novelty here in the US. Jake's condition as well as many other major events can financially task most of us.

Anyway, just an idea.

Cheers Bugs

No worries Baz,

Looked at it and I know we wished we had something like this for the wife's schnauzer who had an ocular condition that forced his eyes inward to the point he was blind. Lost count how many times he wore clean patches in the grass doing circles. Just thought it might be a useful tool for Jakes transition.

Cheers Bugs

Got a couple of pics of Rusty sent by the senior dog sanctuary . Not a bad looking bloke for being 13(91 for us bipedal types). Hopefully we can give him a comfy home.

If things work out, might hop over to Petaluma from Pville in the C-150 and meet him. Sure hope he likes us......

Bill Douglas 08-28-2014 02:36 PM

He looks like he would be up for a good time.

bugstrider 08-28-2014 02:43 PM

Thanks guys!

We're pretty excited. It's funny because the Mrs has it all planned out. It's like she is shopping for a baby shower.

She wants to get a new plush bed, bowl, toys, nice gates, etc. we just want to provide the best home environment for him.

Cheers

Please continue to keep Jake and his family in your thoughts as he adjusts to his new world without sight. Thank you.

Well, I guess we arn't getting Rusty....

Without getting completely banned from ANY further post on the forum due to my use of colorful metaphors and foul language. We have been rejected by the rescue/sanctuary after a home visit and application.

I/we are freaking done with these people and it's just not worth the emotional roller coaster, pain and anguish it causes the misses. Can you tell I'm venting......surry

I have a 8 month old female Australian cattle dog also known as a blue healer. She is a very smart dog listens very well, I really don't want to get rid of her but I work a lot and she needs more attention than I can give her..she is very good around kids, fetches the ball very very we'll. she is full of energy and very playful..she is very protective of her home, so she is a very good watchdog.. You must have a very big yard for her or I will not let her go and give her the attention that she deserves.. Looking for. Family to take her, preferably a family that has children.. I am only looking to get back the money that I paid for her..so if your interested and want. More info and pictures text me at (see ad)
my name is Robert.. The dogs name is Emma. Thanks for your time...

We need a separate Cattle Dog thread, I think.

bugstrider 09-02-2014 08:12 AM

Hahaha

Just recite the Oscar Meier Wiener song but incorporate "dogs" where kids goes......

Although, in today's warmer fuzzier society, we'll need to find an alternative to the word "fat", lol

I agree but part of the definition of that classification is the "kill their prey" aspect....which ACD's are not known for - but can be found in other breeds such as in Terriers and Hounds.

ACD's are extremely alert and they don't miss anything! And they like to chase stuff like CRAZY. But mine tend to do more barking than biting. YMMV.

varmint 09-03-2014 05:15 PM

you should tell that to the mountain of rabbit/squirrel/vole/mouse bones in my yard.

Have any of you sent out for a dog DNA test? Just wondering what my sister's dog is. She got him from the pound and they said he was part Tibetan. Not sure what else he is.
