To Bugs, Matt, etc....
Thanks for the concern for Jake! Here is an update from Melissa .... He's 6 days post-op and outwardly his face is starting to look better. The left eye still weeps pink or yellow serum or even blood when he starts ramming things or shaking his head too vigorously. He's got a double ear infection so the head shaking is hard to stop and he's very frustrated he can't claw at his ears or eyes. He had his last dose of Rimadyl this morning but I have Tramadol to use as needed for him if I feel he is in pain. He's doing better about navigating to the front door and to the kitchen to eat. Once he bounces off of something, he starts overcompensating turning in the opposite direction instead of turning a little bit so he winds up going in circles a lot until he gives up and lays down to pant. We're working on verbal cues for stairs, direction to turn, etc. https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.n...73649631_n.jpg Please continue to keep Jake and his family in your thoughts as he adjusts to his new world without sight. Thank you. |
Poor little guy. That's heartbreaking. :(

Yes, truly heart breaking but Baz loves his digs so he'll at least have a decent and comfortable life.

Thanks Baz, We appreciate the update and you bet we will be keeping Jake in our thoughts and prayers. Sounds like he has had some trying moments but with work and hope, he will prevail. At least he is in a home that provides him what he needs to get through these trying times. Look forward to hearing updates on his progress. On a side note: the sunset photo you posted the other day is the BOMB!!!! Great shot. We are still in touch with the senior rescue regarding Rusty. He was pulled off the available list due to a small skin abnormally they discovered. Apparently, a year ago, he had a bout with ringworm and they want to be sure it's not a relapse. Since we have a 17 year old kitty, we don't want to expose her to anything. We are staying in touch with the rescue. If things work out, we will be driving to Petaluma to meet him. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...b3a69c38ff.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
