Have hunted over some english pointers where i was like 'why do they put reddish paint on the side of these dogs?'. It was the bloody tail leaving marks as it wagged around.
My Braques are docked. Occasionally see videos of Braques that are not docked and it isn't a good look. Not to say that's a good reason to do it but i've come to love the classic look of a docked tail on a bird dog.

![]() Keean says hello. Still not sure what type of dog he is but definitely short hair St. Bernard. Boy he’s a handful, but in a great way. He has all of the reported young St. Bernard traits and doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. He’s just a big silly dope.

I don't know if Missy Lynn counts as a real dog, she belonged to my Sister, and my Aunt is her care taker now and yes, the dog is spoiled rotten.

It looks like my wife and I are adopting another dog
This dog wandered into the neighborhood out of the orange groves 4 weeks ago. Completely emaciated, severely matted, flea-infested and on death's door. I wonder to this day how he survived the bobcats, panthers, bears, snakes, gators and other predators around here! He spent 3 nights at the vet. They estimated he is 7 months old. 4 weeks later? He's coming along very nicely. And he's the most even-tempered, friendly, laid back dog one would ever meet I scanned him with my dog scanner app and these were the results (the scanner has been fairly close to DNA tests in the past). Check out the AKC pic of the Rafeiro du Alentejo - it looks just like him. A Portuguese farm/ranch dog. He has very narrow hips which seems to indicate he's got some sort of running dog in him and that is probably the Borzoi. We were guessing he had some Whippet in him. We've named him Pete ![]() ![]() ![]()

Good find!
(I was talking to the dog.) Crumbs on the floor but no half loaf of banana walnut bread. Hmm. The only other time was eating a third of a round of greek cheese. He got a 1/4lb of pan-fried ribeye last night. no oil or spice. That was a treat for both of us. ![]() Hiking trail by the river we swim across a few times. ![]() Being wery wery quiet, aka resting bored dog face.

Found a couple old dogs on Saturday when I was walking mine. No collars, obviously well taken care of. Came back and got them, put up signs and 13 hours later all set.
They had someone feeding the dogs, apparently had belonged to the guys dad. She sees the signs on the way home, says, "That has to be our dogs." What are you talking about, she takes the sign, "I can put it back if it is not our dogs." They get home to find their dogs were not home. Women.

Thank you guys!! We really appreciate those comments. I hope he forgets those first 7 months quickly. He's now got a lifetime of companionship and fun ahead of him. He'll never be alone again.

Since this thread popped up I guess I can introduce you guys to my son's new pup.
They had two Olde English Bull dogs when they had their second and third children at the same time, ie twins. They had to put one down due to cancer and gave the other to a place that could administer the meds to her that they couldn't handle having two infants to take care of as well. Time passed. The twins grew. So did their big sister. Next thing we know we're being told we have a new 'grandchild' coming into the family. Meet Bubba. This picture is of him the first time we met him back in November at about 9 weeks old. He's growing like a weed and doubled in size in about 3 weeks. Last time we were down visiting this is what he looked like: He's been to a trainer who said that he thinks he'll be 250 lbs when fully grown.
