Angel HATES water. She won't go out in the rain unless she's really desperate. She avoids puddles like the plague. I just found this pick today. We were shocked that she did this. She must have gotten really hot on the walk.
![]() ![]() I didn't catch a photo of it, but she actually laid down in the water. Despite this experience, she still doesn't like water.

That's fantastic! Many people don't realize senior pups need homes too. Before the Mrs found Sir Henry, we tried to adopt two different senior pups with the intent of giving them a loving home for as long as they were with us. Unfortunately, both applications were denied and one rescue sent two representatives to our home to inspect the property. Sadly, I had to watch the wife ride the emotional roller coaster of getting her hopes up then getting it dashed. That is until she found Henry. Who knows in this crazy world if that was how it was suppose to work out.... Needless to say, he is living large here at the ol homestead and makes her smile, especially when she get home and he gives her his best Elvis smile. ![]() Cheers Bugs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Grace visiting her brother spot. Bugs, I have not taken spot flying yet. Actually I have not flown since January
I would actually like to ride backseat with him his first time or so, I would hate for him to have a screw come loose and go bucking bronco in the cabin with no one to help. Although he handles being inverted pretty well.

Hey Chief, Your reasons make total since. Some of our crews will work with SAR guys and gals regarding their dogs. Will make a day of aircraft familiarization, entry and exit, then a short hop to gauge reactions. Will do the same for K-9 units too. Would REALLY hate to see razor blades dressed in fur coats freak... All sorts of bad would result. As far as flying, yeah, I feel your pain. Between work, a needed annual on the bug smasher, my biannual and medical, I'm a real soggy soup sandwich. Actually, this afternoon I pulled out the plane and ran her up to temps, checked for any new leaks, topped the tires and then roller end her back into the hanger. I also discovered the beacon bulb was acting a bit on the wonky side. Will need to figure that one out. Hope it is the bulb just giving up the ghost. BTW: the wife melted when she saw Spot and his buddy. Cheers Trev

I haven't posted any Doxie pics in quite a while, but thought I would today.
My little 'Speedster' is nearing the end of her journey with us. She was diagnosed with bladder stones and heavy sediment in her kidneys. Multiple ultra sound scans have shown no improvement over the past few months despite constant drugs and treatments. She is relatively pain free so far but has a very hard time urinating. I have been on this road before with other dogs and know what the road leads to. We are not ready, nor is Speedster to end it right now, but I am waiting for her to let me know when it's time. She has given us 13 years of love, laughter and very special times and she deserves the best comfort and love we can return to her. ![]() ![]()

About 12 or 13 years ago, my daughter talked me into getting her a dog.
We headed to the pound and found this one pictured below taking a nap. Half dachshund, half big dog (take yer pick). He's 35 pounds with 2" of ground clearance. His tail even drags on the ground. Funny looking. They said he was about 3 years old when we got him, hard to say but he wasn't a pup. She said, "I'm going to name him lucky". I laughed and explained why that's a bad idea, and told her the joke of the old guy describing his dog who is blind, has 3 legs, goes by the name of lucky. She didn't care, his name was Lucky. 13 years later she's off to college, he's pretty much my dog now. And yes, he's earned the name. About 5 or 6 years Ago he completely lost his sight. He's about 99% deaf, he's had 3 cancer surgeries and one hip surgery and had been under general anesthesia 6 times total. GHe's cost me a fortune, but he's my buddy and I can't put him down. I can tell he's getting sick again, I'm feeding him everything in the house and he's starting to loose weight again. This might be it. he's a good dog. ![]()
