Once one has owned a Porsche , one is not 'Porsche-less', one is between Porsches at the moment...

creaturecat 08-09-2012 09:04 AM

my apologies for taking this thread slightly off course with the Smart car comment.
I am 100% on-board regarding your lifestyle change.

MMiller 08-09-2012 09:18 AM

I really support what you and the your wife are doing....

In so many ways less really is more.

Everytime I remove something from my life I don't use/need anymore it feels good!

However selling that Purple 911 had to be hard :) .... That was a beautiful ride!

regards,

Mike

The Smart is a car, but the utility is nowhere near a Jetta.

The six did not go to Mr. Root. It went to a gentleman somewhere in the northern part of the central time zone.

The saddle on the focus is carbon fiber. It is a Fizik Kurve Snake saddle.

The purple car is my favorite of all the Porsches that I have owned. The current owner has not changed anything since he bought it. I still have driving privileges, so I guess I am not completely Porsche-less. :)

Very nice looking 914-6,scoots! I Know about the change thing & have considered selling the 944. But then I change my mind after a fun day out with the car. This old farm house I live in I know I can do without and am serious about a patio home . Selling is a little tough now but this thing has got to go. Hope the market gets better or I'm gonna take a real bath on this joint. Good Luck on your new page in life....enjoy

Congrats.

You sold a Porsche and bought a POS.

I am very glad to hear that your 'life efficiency changes" have not let you and your wife/family on an downward spiral to become included in the latest family break-up quota's.
In a lot of cases this could have turned awful for many a family.

Cheers to your family.
Beautiful.

Didn't work for me. I'm writing from experience.
Good news, finally.

Peace and hail to your drugs. Your post obviously shows you as a dude that likes drugs and alcohol. No one else could write that.

Having a bad night... or has your 14 year old kid logged into your account?

No, it's me. I've never had a "bad night".

Now, if you could argue for trading a Porsche for the POS, I'd like to read it.

Scooter 08-11-2012 10:15 PM

I don't know what your problem is Vintage Racer, but just go away. :(

ninelevenick 08-11-2012 10:29 PM

I say,"To each their own." Scooter hasn't harmed anybody. In fact, he and his wife have made a commitment to tread lighter on Earth. I appreciate Scooter's post because he has chosen a path many of us aspire to take. Less is more...

It's nothing personal (it's just the internet).

You sold a very nice Porsche 914 and bought a POS. I'm sorry to inform you of this. It is what it is. You started the thread. You called it "Porsche-less".

I am saying that you will regret this decision. It will come to you soon. You can wander around all you like in that little moped car, but you will come back.

I promise. Nothing is like a Porsche.

Scooter 08-12-2012 08:56 AM

If you go back and read this thread, you will find that I did not sell my 914-6 to buy the Smart car. The Smart did not replace a Porsche. It is mostly my wife's car and is a daily commuter. The sale of the Porsche is a completely separate issue, that is why I titled this thread Porsche-less and not "hey I just bought a smart car." Additionally, you will also see that I never said that I was leaving the Porsche scene. I am merely taking a break from ownership.

I really don't care what problems you have with the Smart car. I like it. It suits our needs perfectly. However, I do think it is rude for someone to say something we just bought is a POS. It would have been more diplomatic just to say that it is not your cup of tea, but that is you problem, not mine.

Enough about that.

I took issue with what you said about Mike's post above. He was being very kind and you weren't. I think you owe him an apology, then just leave this thread. If you do...great. If you don't...too bad. I really won't know either way, because I am putting you on my ignore list. Part of my life efficiency plan is to enjoy life and it is people like you that affect my enjoyment of Pelican's website in a negative way.

mossguy 08-12-2012 09:08 AM

You really are serious about this simplification thing. Best wishes on your quest!

shadowjack1 08-12-2012 11:38 AM

I tried to go Porsche-less. Lasted about 6 years. Someday in the future one will catch you eye.

DanielDudley 08-12-2012 12:23 PM

I have to say that I really have a lot of respect for people who walk their talk.

Scott, good luck with the new style...:)

just in case you change your mind....

Flipper. :(

Oh well, not my car anymore. Don't really care.

Still happy with my life choices. Really enjoying a little down time from owning a Porsche.
