e30's are wonderful handling machines. watch a couple of well prepped ones go round autoX and you'll see why they're so popular.
plus they're almost indestructable. my friends always telling me to ditch the 944 and go e30. and i can't say i haven't been tempted. |

I have a '84 gray market so it has the small bumpers, headlamp wipers and some other unique features. It's a blast as just a running around car. If you can find a unmolested example, I highly recommend one.

Funny you should mention that. I was just thinking about this thread this am, and how the car that I have a soft spot for is the euro 6-cyl. E21. I'd like to build a fast one, should be easy with all of the cheap 320i cars around and abundance of 6-cyl. donor cars.

SoCal,
That is a beautiful e30, is it henna or brilliant red? In the pictures it looks to have a little orange in it, and because it is an early car it has an off chance of being henna. I would love to find a henna red e30 M3 for the garage, they were unolved when they were new, but now have almost a cultish following:

I'd love to find a nice E28 M5, but the "nice" part is a challenge. Seems that those cars did not age well, it's really hard to find a good one that's not uber expensive.

E30's seem to be the most popular car in LeMons racing.
Sub $500 cars abound~ KT

Now in 993 land ...

I'd like a convertible E30 one day. They are all over the place here for little money. But I need another car like a hole in my head ...
I will keep the stock wheels though - thanks! G |

It's Henna. The stock seats in the second pic are being replaced by Scheels I had redone to match the stock upholstery.

lgb,
That is one beautiful e30 touring, sadly they are very rare the the states (not a big surprise considering bmw never sold them here). SoCal, I would bet your M5 is worth close to what you paid for it. The market for nice M5s is still decently strong provided you don't have to sell something in a hurry. We just sold a e34 M5 and it went for nearly the same amount it was purchased for back 2009. And your e28 with the full euro look would of course be the one most people want. The diving board bumpers on the american e28s just ruin the lines of a beautiful car. |

My first car was a 84 318i, I swapped it over to a manual transmission at 16 years old and learned how to drive a stick. Fun car, great memories and I wouldn't mind having another.
