I have never ever seen the water as high as it has risen today...

Lost power at 12:30 The little generator and pumps have been trying to pump out the Atlantic since then. Once the water came up to the basement windows and the old caol chute.... it was game over..

Seems like the storm is waning... There is massive damage..

My car up on jackstands is safe :-)

Jersey City is slammed. Water started coming up at about 8...still waist deep at my house right now. I live on the 3rd floor, high and dry. My garage is waist to chest high water. Good thing I moved the cars to a parking deck. Power stayed on until 930ish. Car alarms going off everywhere...its freaky. I fear the marina down the road is a disaster. My boat could be a write off. At least its a cheapo old boat.

We are up in the Old Somerton section of Philly (far NE). A lot of rain and heavy winds all day. We still have power though many in our area do not. Our cable just went down about an hour ago.
We have been fortunate so far. I know a few that have lost siding, etc. and one that had his garage door blow away. I understand that the rain will get worse through the night.

Damn, Sandy wasn't the mere hype some people were saying. Hope everyone on the East coast gets through safely.

I had to stay up long enough for someone to say that so I wouldn't spread panic..

Posting fake pictures without a disclaimer is not cool. Only exception is the boobs thread.

Still flooded here in JC, though water level has receded several feet. Another high tide is a few hours away. Will not be as severe as last night, but may be another 12 hours before it clears up. Tried to sleep, but honestly I am afraid to. I got up after an hour and opened a window to look around, smelled smoke. May be some fires in the neighborhood. There is a huge fire right now out in breezy point (i think it is in Queens). Listening to the radio, sounds like its a mess all over. Trees and utility lines down everywhere are making it nearly impossible to travel.

I slept through it here. Lots of rain. Windy through the night. A few branches fell on the roof. A non event in W PA. My daughter in Cleveland has been without power for quite a while.

Here is SW Ohio - 30mph wind. Then nothing, then 30 mph again from a different direction. Then nothing again. Over and over all night. Snowing this morning and blowing sporadically from the west. Strange.
