Jax is awful. I've been visiting family there for nearly a decade and wouldn't recommend the place.

One of the reasons for this is that the city limits extend to the county line. So all the redneck trailer park shootings out in the woods ends up being included in the City's numbers.

While that is true, those murders are mostly in the Black community(not the trailer parks, but section 8 housing), Black on Black crime, not visitors, and the guy who got his throat cut, was the women's husband, and there is more to that than a random killing, my spidy senses say she was giving the guy who committed the crime some sort a BS story, as the husband had to go looking for her, she was in that pub without him, and with the idiot who did the deed.

As to the high crime rate it does not help that every time you turn around JSO is laying people off for a lack of funding when the mayor is giving his staff raises and cutting the ribbon on a mega courthouse downtown.

Not my town and you are welcome to visit and play. My experience having experienced most of FL is that is a lack of good bootie in JaX.

Whoops. I was referring to Caucasian women. None in Jax compared to ANYWHERE else in Florida.

When I was going to college at UNF in the early '80's you could drive up to the window at a Jax's Liquor store and order a mixed drink and they'd pass it to you thru the window and drive off. It was a PITA holding a Jack and coke and shifting my 914.

Yea, but the areas where the shootings generally happen, they won't talk to the police, and throw fits when a Drug dealer is killed in a shoot out with police, everyone in those areas comes out & says that the dealer didn't deserve to die, the police didn't have to shoot them and the perp was a good person, never caused any trouble, of course, the long rap sheets don't show that. You forgot, Brown also creates positions for his friends too, with large salaries,

But, there are fun places & things to do in the area, just depends on your interest. As long as you don't go out looking for drugs, you will be safe.

This is an great event to do.
