G'day!

Good point Craig.....we can't stop the inevitable....but we can make every day count. Love 'em 24/7 - like there is no tomorrow - and when that time comes - have no regrets.

So very sorry for your lose but he had a very good life with a very caring person.
15 yrs is exceptional for the breed, I have not been so lucky, my longest lab made it just barely to 14 with the next one to 13 and my last male lab to 8 1/2, he had cancer and in 2 wks it was over. When they turn their nose to roast beef, there is something really wrong. After waiting 6 months after the last one left and telling myself no more dogs, I cracked when I was scrolling the lab breeders site and saw an absolute knockdown gorgeous female lab. Sorry, I fell in love again and told my wife lets go look at a lab this wkend. She came home with us and is now 3 1/2 yrs old. Take sometime to remember the good days and the bad ones and someday in your future another one will wag its tail and you will melt and he or she will be the lucky owner of a new human that will love them forever.

Sincere condolences, man - a tough thread to read.
![]() I'll hug my two and kick the ball around the park with them tonight while thinking of him. Be proud of the love you shared and your commitment to him, especially in his final hours. RIP.

very tough... sorry for your loss... Just rescued two large females that somebody had dropped off out in the middle of nowhere... Drove by them for three days and just watched them running around aimlessly... couldn't take it anymore and loaded them up in the car, gave em their shots, wormer etc... picked about 30 ticks off of each of them.. they are now nice and warm laying down in the living room... not trying to hijack, our large dog "Mr. Needles" past away a couple of weeks ago and it was hard... but there is always another dog or two that need a special place to be and to be loved as well... Hope it gets easier...

Thanks. You have a good plan. When Maggie passes we will take her to the beach, her favorite place.
