Another computer problem...need help

I was watching football on ATDHE and the stream froze. I shut down and now I can only start in safe mode. I ran a scan and Malware foung a Trojan. But I'm not sure it was removed properly. So now that I'm in safe mode...what do I do.

Help please.

Did so and it just sits and spins. Nothing seems to be happening. Is a bluescreen error caused by a bug?

What's the code on the BOSD, looking specifically for the last hex entry in the string, 0x000000XX where"XX" is should be a numeric or a numeric + an alpha. If you can't catch the BOSD change the following settings:

my computer > properties > advanced systems settings > advanced > "startup and recovery" > settings.

If you still cant catch it go to my computer > manage > event viewer > windows logs > system and look for a "red" event logging the BOSD then paste that entry up.

Did you just change or add hardware or update software/drivers? Doesn't sound like a virus to me...

it's 8E and I can get on with Safe Mode but Safe Mode with Network is wonky. The Norton fix doesn't seem to work.

I can reload the OS and get this all sorted out for you, just the cost to ship both ways. I'd be happy to fix this for you...

Sometimes the trojans are really hooked deep. IMO if you have a backup, FDISK and reload.

Send a message via Yahoo to k9handler
maybe create a boot disk with ubuntu os on it, then reload the windows operating system from there. I had a similar issue a few weeks back and this is how I recovered from it.

0x0000008e is a page fault in a NON paged area. Remove half the memory from the computer and reboot, if it still faults remove the other half and replace the original pair. You're trying to discover which memory module is likely bad.

8e is 99.999% of the time bad memory.

I would also add that if you're not comfortable diagnosing the memory, I would take Art up on his offer, seems like it would be worth the cost of shipping to me.
