have done a little research. believe it's something called an FN Superior. no sears or higgins marks. stock is beautiful. bore is perfect. paid more than i should have.

probably going to put a zeiss conquest on it and get ready for next season.

but another neighbor has an old Unertl that just looks way cool. it's tempting.

A little something to go with my Colts.............

I found these on Gunbroker a few days ago. My plan is to use them 12 at a time as accessories in display boxes for my Colt .22 Officer Models and others. Never seen this headstamp before!

Finally got a Parker Hale match sight for the Carl Gustav on the left
And any reason is good enough to get the rest of the girls out for a lineup.

This is one of the most accurate stock revolvers I have shot.

NICE! I love the PP's.

In Dr. No "M" makes Bond give up his Beretta for the Walther PPK 7.65. Funny how most of the scenes he's actually carrying a PP. The PP is just so damed photogenic

Do any of you guys know about a good youtube channel or videos about the colt 1911 (gold Cup trophy, 45ACP).
I'm getting my gun permit and this will be my first gun, so I want to learn more about dissambly (and re-assembly of course) and cleaning.
There's a lot on youtube but maybe someone can point me in the direction of some good videos. (so I can weed out the ones not worth looking at.)

since this is a pic thread..
(not my gun but identical, mine just needs a thorough cleaning)

Added to the Herd...........

Two new (to me) Colts. A Woodsman Sport 1st Model circa 1931 and an Officers Model revolver in .22rf circa 1942. The Woodsman is nice, the OM is just about perfect! Both came out of a collection from north Georgia!

I think there are some already.
We bought it second hand from an older guy that didn't took the best care of his guns...
It doesn't look too bad but it does need some tlc.
After a good cleaning I'll know if it needs to be taken to a gunsmith for a refresh.
I'll try and take pics this afternoon from the actual gun.
(It is in my dad's gunsafe, since i don't have my permit yet)

Geronimo '74 11-28-2015 02:49 AM

Apparently it is a gold cup match not a gold cup trophy
Can't post a pic from my iPhone. Later.

Geronimo '74 11-29-2015 10:54 PM

The actual gun, with ginormous idiot scratch...

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1448869841.jpg

a few others:

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1448869914.jpg

The old one next to the Beretta is my grandfathers old service gun. (he was a police detective) We still have the ammo that came with it in the original box.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1448870044.jpg

All of them are in need of some tlc to get them fresh again.

Picked up an IBM M1 Carbine today. Made around December 1943.

The bottom one is just a Universal from the late 60s.

Went Marlin fishing...........

Just added this one to the pile. A Marlin Model 97 circa 1902. The gun that grandpa drooled over when he was a young teenager! This is the deluxe model with pistol grip and hand cut checkering. Will handle shorts, longs or long rifle cartridges.

Both beautiful guns! Lightnings in that condition are hard to find. I'm partial to Winchesters as apposed to Marlins, but she's still a VERY sexy rifle, especially for .22 rimfire.

It resembles the revolver I found the easiest to shoot accurately: a 4" 19-3. Well-used with a trigger that was more intuitive than mechanical, it was difficult to differentiate double or single action groups at 50'. Loved it. The one I shot wore a Hogue Monogrip.

Holy smokes, Fred, both those rifles are amazing. They make my early '60's plain Jane 39A Mountie look rather, well - plain. Very cool stuff.

Just a 6" 28-2 with Pachmayr grips. There was something wrong with the lockwork so S&W rebuilt it for a song.
