So who's getting a CMP 1911?
|
How much are they gonna be and how old or what generation?
|
|
I'll give you $300 for it, that's a $44 profit right in your pocket!

There was a Creedmoor match at the club today. Interesting group, shooting high caliber pistols at 200 meters laying down holding the gun against their leg. The guy with this 45-70 hit 10 rams in a row at 200 meters.
You can see they have a sense of humor (even if they can't spell). http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1452387730.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1452387754.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1452387771.jpg |

So where do I get a holster like this for a Single Six in .22LR that isn't terribly expensive?

Thanks, the Hunter 1100 looks just like that one.
|
So I am at mom and dad's last night and ask dad what holster is in the picture so he brings it up and it is a Hunter 1100 series.
Dad got the holster, belt and nickel 5.5" Double Nine for $25 back in the late 60s. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1457644185.jpg |

The Mauser 71/84's are in the best overall condition because for the most part there were never issued as black powder cartridges became suddenly obsolete with the advent of smokeless powder which allowed for smaller caliber high velocity cartridges. As such they were stored away and during the 1960's were imported into the USA in virtually new condition where you could buy them for about $30. Personally I think that if I were to collect military Mausers I would have...a 71/84, a 1896 Swede Sniper, a 1916 98 GEW, A 98 GEW Kar AZ, a Serviceman's Tgt 98 GEW and a 1934 Mauser Banner 98K...all would have to be matching of course...and I would have to think about a 71 Kar and a 98 33/40 mountain Kar. Then if I wanted a commercial Mauser I would go for a cased Rigby 98 Sporter. The one that I would dream about having would be the one in the photo on the cover of the 2000 Standard Catalog Of Firearms...Starting around 1903 Rigby acquired the exclusive rights to commercial 98 actions. |

Probably true, I wouldn't mind a Woodsman but prefer the Ruger in that style, especially an older Mk II.

But that Erma is my prize - even though not a matching bolt, and as most were separated at capture that is no big deal to me. What is VERY cool is that it is a Posnan depot rebuild and to quote some very reliable sources - no doubt a combat carried rifle which is rarer than most people think. Incidentally I was researching unit disks on Gews and there was a picture of a rifle with a but-stock carved by the soldier that brung it back - some guy Tabs owned it. |
Husky 1640 30-06, 1954.
Gave it to the kid that works for me for 5 years service above and beyond. - VERY tough to let this one go. Such a beauty. But he deserved it, and now he and his girl can hunt together. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1461370726.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1461370759.jpg |
That rifle is gorgeous, hopefully he takes many a animal with it to put on the table. :)

pulled these out to take to the range the other day.
1964 browning safari in 30-06, and 1952 Marlin 39a 22. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1461375859.jpg |
Turkey winning "chunk gun"! I finished putting a Unertl scope on it today after making a solid one piece scope block.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1461376112.jpg

If any of us are stuck in California and you want a semi automatic rifle with a detachable magazine get on it! there's a ban waiting for a liberal governor to sign.

OK, no pic yet but a question. I am looking for a holster for a full size 1911 that is comfy for a 5'11" frame. I have a generic OWB for when I mow so I can swap the .2 barrel in and shoot the stupid rodents that get into the garden and such. Looking for a IWB for concealment for those times I would want to carry it. I am not too overweight.
|
Now I have a pic from out getting it "broken in".
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1465838302.jpg These were there to keep it company. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1465838331.jpg |
Hard to beat the beauty of a Kimber 1911.
|
It was also hard to keep it to myself. The kids and dad went out ad they all shot it as well. It is a blast with the .22 conversion on it as well. I finally had to tell our youngest to let others have a turn.
For break in Wally World had WWB for $72 for a box of 200 rounds. They only had one box left. |
One of our friends had this happen. Marines and their equipment.

Here is our little single shot .22 we let the kids start with.
