If anyone is looking for a S&W semi I have a 40 cal model # 4006 I am going to sell . Have several magazines/extra springs and the original box . It was a CHP officers turn in that I bought years ago at Orlando gun show . PM for details . I am just keeping revolvers now .

This fell back to page 12. It forced me to go out and buy a Mossberg JM 940 it's second hand and since it was sold to a shoo ut first goes into gun jail in California for 30 days. I can't pick it up until May 20th.

Had to use the search to find it, forced me to go out and buy a Howa Mini 1500 in 762x39 w/ heavy barrel and threaded muzzle.

bit off an odd caliber for a bolt gun ???
I mean, 7.62.. but it has 40% less case capacity then 308 winchester.. So I don't see the point really??

Ammo availability. Dirt cheap to plink and practice with for those who do not reload. Ballistically roughly equivalent to the .30-30, it becomes a very good deer, black bear, and hog round when topped with the right bullet. I think it's a great idea. Surprised no one has offered this before. Granted, there is the Ruger Mini 30, but many prefer a bolt gun for hunting, and even for plinking.

It is a ultra-short action, so small and light. The 762x39 round can be incredibly accurate - if you don't shoot bulk ammo through a AK or SKS. The round itself has enough NRG for deer/pigs out to 150+yards and 100 yards is a really long shot here in Florida.

Was going to get a Henry single shot in 30-30 but just to get 2 boxes of factory ammo to start reloading with would've matched the cost of this rifle, and I'm sitting on several thousands of rounds of x39, including about 500 in reloadable cases. Reports are of 1.5-2moa with the steel case crap and sub-moa with high quality reloads/factory ammo

Wel, I thought that .308 is just more available then anything else?
Choice, variety, volume? Isn't it the most popular rifle caliber ?
it is here at least if you look at what you'll find in a gunshop..
here in Belgium, rooskie .30 isn't all that available at all... You'll be lucky if they have it in any kind of variety , never mind volume.

CZ527 has been around, and Zastava mini-Mausers in 762x39 have been brought in over the years by various importers under various model names - the Interarms Mini-Mark X, the Remington 799, Charles Daley and Century as both the M85. The Zastava guns have nice wood, and were plentiful last year and prior, but now that I had the $ they were gone. Happy I scored the Howa, they've dried up as well.

Yup, I've thought of the 7.62x39 rifles as well. Fine brush gun and cheaper than a real rifle to shoot jk. I don't have a bolt gun but thinking of a x39. And a 30/06 for when it's further out than 200 yards

Still haven't picked up the Mossberg JM940 due to California!

Mines used but the bolt looks like it has never seen an impact and the gun has zero oil or grease on it

Finally after some miscalculation on days for bg check, and dealing with a installed trigger lock that the store didn't have a key for (one of the fishing guys is a locksmith, but didn't have tools with him, we ended up drilling it out) I finally have the new spoon in hand. Short light and handy, feels like a grown up 22 like my CZ455. Bolt throw isn't much longer. I have an inexpensive Simmons 2-7x32 scope on it.

My tax stamp collecting buddy has a .308 rated can so this may just end up as a hop into NFA land, though I'll do a SBR first since the efile form1 is a quick wait and I already own all the parts I need - just the $200 tax stamp....

If you are looking for an action to build a small caliber on or want a small handy 223/300bo/6.5g/762x39 carbine I strongly recommend grabbing one. Hit the Cabela's "used gun" section on their website, find one, call the store and have it shipped.

How dare you take advantage of the "Yard Sale" Loop Hole in our GUN LAWS, Man!

Just kidding: What is it?

1873 trapdoor Springfield. Full rifle, not the carbine.

YouTube says guys shoot these all the time. Some still hunt with them. I’m gonna have it inspected. Maybe shoot a little. But ultimately just a very cool wall hanger.

I had no idea: Who am I, Higgins

Very cool.

That is one, if it is sound, I would love to have as a shooter.
