They used Columbus in 83 and 84. It has a Cinelli BB shell. Not sure what lugs they used. The rear dropouts are Simplex (I guess they were obligated to put some French parts in there somewhere) which were problematic and I'll be checking that really close for hairline cracks. 83 team bikes used all French components. 84 team bikes used Super Record. Should be delivered within a day or 2, so we'll see if it all pans out. I've got my fingers crossed. And no, John, it is NOT your size

Fignon and Anderson in 84:

And to think that back in the 80's the bike clothes were still all wool. I think I still have a wool jersey and shorts still in the closet.

Temp outside right now here is 103.

Ok Curt, now we are talking. That Gitan had me loosing sleep for weeks. Gitan was our sponsor and gave our club (PAA, in Pasadena) 5 frames exactly like that, back in 84, to the fastest five riders. it was the first time I actually touched the same frame that Lemond or Hinault would have ridden ( I know, they had custom frames built for each individual riders). That was the pitch anyway at the meeting with the rep from Gitan. I was 16 and there was no way I was close to the fast cat 1 riders.

Haven't you worn wool jersey and shorts in 103? Oh, don't forget the wool socks. It works. You actually stay dry.

that's not a clipless pedal, this is a clipless pedalhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1406694092.jpg

That Cinelli pedal ripped as few pairs of shoes apart. The manual release wasn't too bad, but the "Oh Siht" moment is a guarantee to draw blood.

Thanks for posting that. I just finished it and my eyes were glued to the screen. I must have worn out the rewind key. Most interesting thing was tempering with food and the bike. I knew and have heard about another rider taking out someone, but with that many cameras around?

Hmmm, the seller of this frame is just outside Pasadena.

Installed new bars today...temporary to try them out. If I like them, I will be installing road brakes and a better tape job with actual bike tape rather than tennis wrap. ;)

Bridgestone X0-1

Hey! I own that bike! One just like it, anyway. Sky of VeloCult borrowed it for an event he was attending with Grant Petersen, they needed an old Bridgestone as a prop. He returned it with Grant's signature on the top tube :-)
