Did you mean to write Girlfiends?

(It's just yardart. I can't stand to see mannequins going to waste on the free pile)

First ride today. Glad I didn't tape the bars, I'm going to have to do some adjustments to the cockpit.

This thing is light, (less than 16 lbs! 58cm!) and you can feel it. Those wheels have some sail to them and I'm gonna have to be careful on windy days while I get used to them..

I can look forward to warm weather riding!

That's hot hot hot. Really impressed at the weight. How much do the wheels get blown around?. It wasn't that windy today, was it?

I still remember getting blown around the first time riding deep dish wheels in the wind. Scared the heck outta me. The wind (coming from one side) was blowing pretty good that day as I was riding through a street with a bunch of buildings blocking the wind. As soon as I got into the intersection, that gale force wind caught my front wheel and basically shook it, similar to someone who came by and push on your handle while you were riding. My hands were on the top and I was pretty relaxed up until that point. Now, I pay attention.

Just noticed, you got the Cosmics. They are really strong wheels. Great for training and racing. They have become my everyday wheels. I climb with them as I do not have climbing wheels like many people. Hell, it wouldn't made a difference if they weight an ounce or 10 lbs. As least not for my fat ass.

The newer toroidal shape wheels are much better. Remember Spinergies? God, they were awful in a crosswind. Worst was getting passed by a truck when the wind was from the left-you'd be unconsciously leaning into the wind, the truck would pass and block it, and suddenly you're turning left into the truck! Good times.

It was about 11 or 12 MPH from the east. Enough to get my attention in the crosswinds!

Something to get used to. There is a lot to get used to on this bike.

Yeah, hope so. I was hoping the fat bike would keep me motivated during the winter, so far so good.

New summer ride being built, a custom spec Quiring Ti 29er can't wait.

Schweet! Talk of the deep rims in crosswinds are hairy but oddly so are very light wheels with less rotational mass (sub 300gm hoop and tubular). Sometimes its far less effort and less anxiety on a heavier shallow wheel. Had many close calls and no matter how often riding in 20 to 30mph wind days, I never get comfortable. Especially on fast descents, tree lined and then when you come into a clearing. Feels like some giant invisible hand comes out and yanks the bike out from under.

For laughs, years ago a buddy let me try his TT bike with a rear disc. A slight breezy day but nothing excess and just a short ride. Bullhorn bars and felt my weight was pushing forward bias. Plus it seemed steep raked. Funky weird, squirrely and scary thing, much respect for those racing back when.
