Thanks!
Aside from marketing / wheel sizes available - I’m not seeing a whole lot that’s ‘new’.
Seems like everybody is touting the “1x” driveline (which is great for my kid - never wants to shift the front rings...).
Disc brakes are just plain awesome.
Nothing new in driveline design aside from E shifting. I’m old fashioned - cables are good for me, and I never need to charge them.

That Stumpjumper seems like buying a motorcycle without a motor. Sure seems comfy!

I’ll be curious to see how his season progresses. I definitely need more miles - and hope that with those miles, I become less of an anchor.

Right now - any bikes seem like unobtanium. We drove 10 hours round trip to pick up my son’s bike on saturday. After the dealer that I like to work with basically told me that his “allocation” probably wasn’t going to happen until October or later (2022 model year). Could have bought one off the floor at a different shop 1 1/2 months back. At that time, my LBS told me that he’d have this bike in April / May.
I have never paid list price for a bike before. Hope the kid REALLY likes this one...

Just before heading out to a race:

A friend gave this to me... Old bikes seem to find their way to my house.

I just finished up this bike I built from scratch. It actually works pretty well. The front hub is the most interesting part about it. I used an old 3 speed hub because its big and welded in the ratchet mechanism from a 10 speed so its not a fixed gear it ratchets and you can coast like a normal bike.

Oops, screwed up the sidewalk didn't he? WHat's it doing in your shop now. You repairing it?

That's a typical late 90s frame.

We used to cut the front of the frame off bad frames in front of the seat tube, bend the rear triangles out about 16”, put a seat post and seat in it and make a shop stool.

Not very stable but kind of cool.
