That saddle is not big dick friendly.
You will get some guy who will buy it and do a century on it and complain about hoe it doesn't climb or sprint well but the carbon ride is compliant. |
|
Just an FYI, check out websites like greatkeenbike.com or cyclingyong.com as to why you should be very very afraid of buying a high end cervelo or Pinarello or Specialized etc on ebay these days. The bikes aren't exact copies, but passable enough that there's a guy on an east coast cl trying to sell an s5 that isn't as if it is. BMC clones as well.
There are some legit deals out there too (I'm building a 800g carbon frame up now) that aren't labeled as knockoffs, and those that have ridden the Chinarellos back to back w/ the real thing claim they ride as well, but caveat emptor. |
$175 including the speed play pedals.....rolls OK, wheels are true, no noises and single speed.....cheap ass china components but it was cheap and it rolls, WTF.....:p

Looks great Spud! I hope you plan on riding that up Mines Rd. this weekend!
|
We will be doing either Patterson Pass or Mines on Sunday, had her up on Altamont Pass this morning, what an amazing machine :D
I had my eye on the Venge (S-Works like yours), but this Italian supermodel kept calling my name... |
I don't think you can go wrong either way. Have you weighed that thing?
|
Well with pedals, a pair of Gatorskin Hardshells (heavy), and alloy bar/stem, and a comfy seat it weighed in at 15.8lbs, would easily be low 15lbs with race tires, carbon bar/stem etc.. But I built it for long rides and durability. Seems like I was getting flats every ride on my old bike.

Dunno if I've posted this. My wife's new old bike. I've tried to ride it. I can barely get around the block. So humbling. |
Hey Joe,
check this out. now you can use modern black shoes with old fashion fixed cleats Bicycle Shoe Cleats for Toeclip Pedals $29.95 at Yellow Jersey |
Those blue cleats look good and no more nails. I have never experience the nails, it was after that for me. have fun
|
That's cool. Why baby blue though :-(
I never rode with toe clip cleats. I guess the peloton changed to clipless in the mid-late 1980s? |
