I never rode with toe clip cleats. I guess the peloton changed to clipless in the mid-late 1980s?

You ride clipless now don't ya? I normally ride Look black or fixed cleats. Old habits die hard, but did change to a 4 degree float a couple of weeks due to worn and lack of new black cleat hanging around the garage. Now, the little float ain't that bad so far.

Oh, you just have to remember to go down and release the buckle. Just don't fall in front of a pretty girl in traffic.:)

SPD and mountain bike shoes.

Laneco 03-05-2013 10:48 AM

SPD? Meh.

Time ATAC and mountain shoes. All the bikes set up the same. Easy to get into, to get out of (especially in a HURRY), good in the mud, good for RUNNING in the mud and then riding (cyclocross), nice bit of float and zero knee issues ever.

I've ridden them all and these are the best pedals for my varied use.

I'm too cheap. The old Ritchey road SPD pedal (not SPD-SL) only cost $10-20 on eBay and in co-op parts bins and only weigh about 250 grams . . .

Nice..... wheels look pricey....

dzls rok 03-09-2013 06:52 PM

actually the wheels are a great value. great all around wheel, considering price, weight, aero, and durability. the darker blue bike/wheels are 8yrs old and have seen a few miles off road. they are still true.

Wow...

On STP last year, I met a unicyclist who rides it every year. Big wheel, aerobars. 100 miles/day for 2 days. I wonder if that's him.
