As someone who was never into BMX bikes and knows nothing about them, I've always wondered what guys in their 40s and 50s do with the vintage BMX bikes they collect? With road bikes, you just keep riding them same as always. So I guess the BMX guys (or at least one of them :D ) sorta does the same ....

Byron - Any thoughts what this Yamaha is worth? Front and rear suspension, mid-1970's and appears original. Missing front fender?

^^^ Byron - No not mine. On ebay right now. Thanks for mentioning of the seat.... wasn't sure of that either. Seller is located near Road America and could make it part of a road trip.

Also, I seem to recall an Italian made kids BMX type, marketed by Harley during the AMF years. Faux plastic tank on it. Short lived. Then there was the Evil Kneivel bikes, BMX and a 10 speed. Comical.

I am not sure if it's because of my BMX days, but I am really wanting a Cannodale Hooligan with 20" wheels for a city bike. BTW: it would be great for my short stature. Any thoughts?

Seattle is hilly enough that I think that thing will be miserable to ride except on carefully selected routes. Only a 3 speed rear hub?

Look at Dahon folding bikes. 20" wheels, up to 24 gears (combine 8 speed cassette w/ 3 speed hub), also suitable for a very wide range of heights. Not as cool or as rigid as what you found, but a third the price too and more practical.

Definitely true about the 3 speed, but just like my 911's...it would be modified. ;)
