So far, the responses pretty much say that it is a late 80s Schwinn Predator Sting that someone added mounts and guides to

Thanks guys, I forgot about that bmxmuseum site. Looking at the headbadge of the predator, my frame does have two horizontal mounting holes that would have supported that badge. I haven't checked out the site yet, looking for it now.....

Pretty sure they have a serial number decoding feature, let us know what you find out. Also, strip and clean around the brake post, to see if there are signs that they were added later.

I've been looking all over bmxforum.com and can't find any threads about my mystery frame nor a serial number search function. Byron- do you have a link to what you've already posted and the responses? Or, should I just start a new thread in the "Name It!" forum? I don't want to duplicate something you may have already done. Thanks again.

I also requested to join the FB vintage BMX group but am waiting on approval......

I had it on the bmx museum Facebook page, but it was removed for some reason, none was given , didn't put it on BMX museum regular site, cause thought that you were. Here is a link to page I posted it on, also on my Instagram page and personal Facebook page, but this is where I got results.

Mystery solved. I have it on very good authority that is a 89 or 90 Sting Team Model. Came from the factory with the 990 mounts.
So, it actually is a Schwinn Predator Sting.

Thanks Byron! It does seem to be the 1989 Sting Team, now that I was able to google that specifically. In this picture, you can see both rear brakes (?!) mounted and what looks like a dual pull lever mechanism. Why not just run a front brake?

Here is one with just the U-brake

and a thread on the bike.

That frame is Nickle plated underneath, clean that spray bomb off and see how she cleans up.

Officially love OfferUp, Free to good home:

Cannondale M700 with a few upgrades including the M C 2000 stickers because he thought it looked like a 'Mall Cop' bike.
