I rescued this from the trash. Unknown Japanese frame and old Shimano components. Put on some new parts and ditched the drop bars. Finally got it adjusted so it’s comfortable to ride. Feels super fast in comparison to my Bianchi city bike.
I’m not a cyclist, just a commuter. ![]() ![]() Last edited by dan79brooklyn; 01-20-2019 at 04:48 PM.. |

^ Vintage goodness. That 600 Shimano stuff is well-regarded.
Be sure to lock that thing up, or someone will come and drink your milkshake!

The Shimano 600 works well...All I did was replace the chain, cables and brake shoes. Thankfully here in Japan people are much less prone to theft...But back in NYC even with a serious lock I still lost an entire bike, several wheels and a saddle in 15 years living there.

![]() ![]() ![]() Two new stablemates. Berk is a small slovakian custom builder in his early twenties. Bike is amazing and very light, about 5.8 kg as built. The Ottrott needs no introduction.

That Berk is super cool. Just did a little research on them. Nice stuff.
The Serotta is a Ti frame and carbon fork? Or is there carbon elsewhere in the frame? What size are those bikes?

It has a bent seatstay that is Dave Kirk's signature. There's actually a bearing pivot at the cs/ss junction. Its very smooth, actually deceptive till you look at the metrics on the power/speed. But what's best is the rear compliance makes it RAIL downhill. It was a "doctor / lawyer" bike when built but it has cojones.

I installed an entire teams bikes with C Record groupo's. Those brakes were heavy, a pita to setup and barely worked but they looked like jewelry in the box.

John Deere Bikes
What's funny about that is that I had an MB2 that was painted JD colors from the factory!
