Working for a living. It's overrated.

People that ask you a question, but have already decided what answer they want. A new girl at work asked how I made the productivity stats set for our department. I told her until you get a feel for things, you rush around like a maniac, but once you learn the products finding things goes quickly. "No, I mean, what's the trick? The shortcut?" "There isn't one - that's what I do." Eyes me dubiously. "Sure..."
It kills me how many people refuse to believe hard work could possibly be the answer. |

Patience is one of those virtues I have come to appreciate as an absolute essential in how to enjoy life better. It's not easy though - I have my moments! |

"Wow, you're in really good shape, man; what do you do?" "I exercise for - " "Oh. I don't have time for that." WHY did you ask?! What other possible answer could there be? "Yeah, it turns out if you eat Taco Bell every day, three times a day, you actually get into shape!" |
Less than 1 second after the President finishes speaking, all the talking heads in the MSM rushing to start bashing what they didn't like. I guess they think that Americans are too stupid to understand what was said so they have to tell us what we should think.
One NBC commentator was throwing out slurs as the POTUS was about to speak and even kept speaking as the POTUS began his speech. |
When merchants sell things they don’t actually have and a follow up call reveals a 5 week delay.

I also hate puling up to an intersection and find people cutting the corner into my lane and then give me a dirty look because I nearly hit them. People like this make me hope they are the first to get a self driving car so I can mess with it. |
^^^Geez - mark me down for that pet-pi$$-off. Too many ass-hats in their 4 x 4's & SUVs (at least around here) haven't a clue as to the actual place in space of their vehicles while they're 'supposedly driving' them. Also
to "flipper's" 2nd point - the incompetents who insist on making a right angled street corner into some sort of curve to be taken at speed. Another board member (don't have his name at hand) has suggested a driver's licence is just too damned easy to obtain - too true! Cheers JB |
How about it when a guy posts about needing some advice and people respond over and over with the same replies. How many times do people have to respond with the same advice?
There is a thread like this going on now. |
One that has recently surfaced for me at work: Micro-managers.

Pickup trucks without real snow tires should be banned north of the 40th parallel between November and March.
Stuck in traffic this morning because another idiot spun out and hit a guard rail and maybe another car. Blocked two lanes of traffic because he couldn't pull to the side after the hit. |
I despise the gas station coffee cup lid systems.
You cant lift them off because they are tapered. You end up touching the ones below yours and the next person gets to put their lips on whatever you fingers have been in. As well as I get about five sets of finger germs in my mouth from the peeps before me. |
Gas Station TV.

There are 2 local gas stations that implemented the TV while you wait theme. I made sure to take my credit card inside so I could tell the cashier that as long as they blast advertisements at me while I'm filling my car, I won't be back.

Appliances that have completely symmetrical doors with no indication of which sides are handle/hinges.

ok, here you go....
Parked wherever and someone that is parked next you and gets out and leaves.... then they hit their clicker/door lock 10 times so you can clearly hear that their $5k SUV is locked. Yeah, I get it - you want me see your CRV is locked and your $20 jacket, dunkin donuts cups & spare tool kit are safe now... what azzhats! For the record, I hit mine ONCE! |
People who say Ek cetera.
there is not K in Et Cetera. And there is no T in chassis either: Shhhassis |

Just because others wear something you don't like or make noises that you find disturbing does that make them bad or make you intolerant?
Like I used to say to my wife it is not what the baby does but how you handle it! |

I understand the silliness of really old people wearing things to try to look like they are 20 and trendy. Along the same lines as ultra tight clothing on a body that is way too obese... That said, jeez, get over it. |
This morning ran by the store to pick up a couple items and while in checkout the guy in front after unloaded his items, pushes his basket on the floor in a void at the base of the conveyor belt.
Obviously, he did this because it was convenient to him....not because it was a responsible way for an adult consumer to act. I didn't say a word. I just picked it up and stored in under my shopping cart so I could return it to where the baskets were kept in the front of the store. He saw me do it and gave me a look. In response I said "No worries....I will put it back with the others out front." So he checks out and I move my cart forward and next thing I know he reaches down and pulls his basket back out and puts it with the others out front. Good for him - I wasn't trying to be a jerk or anything. I spent 10 years as a store manager (business to business) and it's in my blood to be responsible as a consumer myself. I wonder if he felt like a schmuck and decided to correct his irresponsible act? :D |

This has probably been mentioned before: a pseudo-intellectual spewing some techno-babble on the tube the other night persisted in using "asteriks" in place of asterisk.
