I just got one , that has been to 3 local shops who cannot fix it . What makes them think I have any desire to spend countless hours at a cut rate , just so they can make a buck.
I do not have strong enough words for how bad I want these guys to just fk off .
Never consider sending my any gravy work, only the **** boxes that no one else can fix

Falls under this category, Fred.....

Tell them to take a hike.....:D

Those are the ones that you push to the back of the line until you have nothing to do.

Chocaholic 06-05-2019 05:58 AM

Or simply quote them what it will cost to properly repair the vehicle with a reasonable profit in it for you. Why do you feel obligated to work for “cut rates” for these guys? If they’re not willing to pay an honest rate, they can go elsewhere. Seems easy.

fastfredracing 06-05-2019 06:08 AM

Because there is no quoting jobs like this. It will be tons of hours till I figure it out. How many , I have no idea x shop rate.

People who make broad sweeping generalizations as fact.

People who either post misleading post titles or make them so vague as to be meaningless

drkshdw 06-06-2019 02:23 PM

People that go the wrong way up and down the aisles at Aldi.

URY914 06-06-2019 04:24 PM

People who say "revert back". Double negative. You can revert and you can go back but both? Don't think so.

brp914 06-06-2019 07:13 PM

People pumping gas at costco. It's full. Click. Try again..Click..click...click..I'm losing patience..click..click..

I know I'm going to lose it one of these days. If you sense any rumbling, it's not the San Andreas, but some fatass getting a major boot kick.

actually it's not a double negative, it's just redundant.
And it's not necesarily incorrect, usually undesired but can be used as a style form for emphasis or clarity

svandamme 06-07-2019 12:54 AM

I have a pet peeve a bout people calling things a double negative when it's not and it is in fact a redundant use, aka a tautology like

I need a new hot water heater.
She always over-exaggerates.
They reverted the system back
Remember when 4G cell phones were a new innovation?
Our nation must come together to unite."
Louis van Gaal wants to return Manchester United back to their glory days

Fake people. Just be who you are . Wear it, and be proud. I find it hard to interact with some one while they are being super nice to me, when I know as soon as I walk out the door, they are talking smack behind my back

Businesses that use Facebook as their website. Just nope.

To be honest, for a small business, I prefer finding them on Facebook then having to look at a crappy website that is outdated

Businesses that refuse to “talk” with you. NO phone number to be found anywhere. Email only. Usually run by millennials. I had (past tense) an interest in their 700.00 map upgrade to our ‘19 Tacoma. Everybody, and I do mean everybody that has installed it, loves it. I’m sure I would have too. I emailed them and asked for a phone call back as I had some questions. NOPE. They emailed me back wanting to know the nature of my questions and specifically what they were. NO offer of a conversation. F’em. Customer service is dead and lost on these punks.

FB offers a whole different platform with some advantages over a traditional website.

Either one can work just fine if it's set up and managed properly.

The pet peeve should have been terrible website designs and/or poorly managed FB pages for businesses.

Business cards of sole proprietorships (or LLC's with owner/operator) without a contact person's name on it. Just the business name.

If you own the business....then OWN it by posting your name along with your business info.

Sure. But being small and having a crappy website do not go hand-in-hand. Yes it is an investment but the Facebook posting usually stinks at least as bad a crummy website and a small, easily found, simple and informative (at least) site is SOP for anyone serious anymore. Website designers might not be standing in front of Home Depot but they are almost as abundant and easily found. Although I admire that someone was smart enough to come up with the idea, some of us never signed up for FB and never will. As always, ymmv.
