8 Years with the Bosch Stainless it's the best DW I have ever had.
One Pump replacement I did myself after year 5. Does a great job we have hot water recerk system so the water always hot right away. I have found softened water is easyer on DW's they tend to last longer. They are expensive.

We had a Bosch at work. Very quiet but took a long time to do a load. Some people thought it was a garburator and didn't rinse leftover food off. Hence the drain screen would get plugged which would require the unit to be pulled out to be serviced.

One of my customers had one...It kept having problems while being under warranty. The place they bought it from replaced it with another brand....

They are god units. Second best IMO compare to a Miele but that's also a lot more money. I have never had any problems with any of the Miele that were spec for clients' home. Bosch units have no drying cycles unlike the American makers. Keep that screen clean in there and you would not have any issues. We clean ours once a week. A 20 second job at the sink.

2.5 years with my Bosch -- it is quiet and gets the job done. I have the buttons on top since we have a wood panel on the front to match the rest of the kitchen (gives the dishwasher a built-in look and feel).

Maybe an older one. As far as I know they have what they call condensation dying cycle what uses no energy. The dishes in my Bosch are all dry in a few hours after they are washed.

i don't see how any dishwasher can be worth more then 300 bucks.
It's a Stainless steel square box, with a pump and a heating element. And a PCB that controlls both. And if they are noisy, you can stuff some rockwool insulation in there yourself.. My cheapo Whirlpool was 299 euro , 8 years ago, died this year and got replaced with a Zanussi for 314 euro If that one lasts 8 years again, i'll be happy.. I always get the cheapest known brand model i find... |

"Get a Miele"
So quiet you don't know it is running when you are in the kitchen.

I paid $1000 for mine and I would have paid double that price for the noise reduction alone, my old one sounded like a rock crusher. It is also far more efficient than my old one so the savings will come over time.

More info on my dishwasher: it is model #: SHV65P03UC -- 24" 800 Plus Series. Since mine has the cabinet panels, it had to be set further back in order to have the front of it flush with the rest of the cabinets. Since the Bosch isn't as deep as other dishwashers, we did not have to cut into the sheetrock behind it in order to accomodate this.

We have one that's three years old and replaced an 18 year old Miele (which still works fine in the wife's office). It is very quiet, no problems but wife did manage to punch through one of the settings on top and pierce the plastic and it doesn't do a great job of drying IMO.
If I had to do it over again I think I would have gotten another Miele. |

I just installed one. It is a little smaller than then GE Profile. But it is quiet and it really cleans the dishes. Also the "drying cycle" is running extremely hot water on everything. This has the advantage of never melting the small plastic items (bicycle bottle lids, etc) that get knocked to the bottom.

you can buy a lot of Dynamat and other sound dampening stuff for that kind of money...Personally, i take the ZEN approach : If a tree falls in the woods with nobody around, does it still make a sound? in other words : i just set the machine to run when i'm not around... No amount of noise reduction can beat not hearing it at all. I bought 700 bucks worth of ammo instead... |

If you have an older Bosch, just make sure it is not on the recall list:
