Was going to try and swing mammoth but we're just going to settle on Big Bear. Can't wait, it's been too long! Love skiing, we used to go a few times a year when my dad was still around.

I don't get why you would want to switch, I tried boarding fell a bunch said F that and happily took my sticks back.

Shopping skins for the backcountry as I've never used them (old school). Anyhow, found this video of a fellow using a specific un-named brand skin and liked his feedback:

OK, here are some pics:

I did not have wifi at the cabin in Tahoe and never opened my laptop, (too busy having fun and eating well).

Here are a few from the mountain, the guy in the black hat is my buddy that I went with. He got to leave his pregnant wife at home and get away for a few days, (not going to happen again for him for a while), , we were with his brother and grown nephews/wives and their kids. I had a ball.

That's me in the middle in the parka that makes me look like a teletubby:

These are nachos:

And this is a nice ski rig:

The dirtiest car I've seen since(?)...I kind of liked it. You never see this in L.A., ever.

If someone can tell me how to upload iPhone videos, I'll post a couple of skiing clips.

Totally true. Go for more than one day. By the end of three or four days, you will get it. I got totally addicted to snowboarding. Skiing was fun but I don't know, snowboarding gave me a certain rush. Do it!!!

Anything goes these days as long as you get out there and just do it. Not too long ago skiers and resorts were whining about 'shredders'. Funny how now its taken over. (BTW: Who coined that word?)

Could take up both with a splitboard and backcountry set-up.

Amusing -

Love Tahoe, I lived in SL Tahoe after college and had many epic days at Heavenly, Squaw, Kirkwood, Alpine meadows.

Now I am stuck back east but still find good days out here from time to time.

Has anyone downloaed Skitracks as of yet?

Great little app to track your runs, time, spee,d altitude etc.

Here is a screen shot of a day at Sugarbush in VT last year:

Yes, my friend had skitracks on his phone and was very interested in how many vertical feet we skied, how fast, etc... We only got up to about 50 mph, though.

Awesome ski car, Jake. That thing would be impressive w/ good snow tires in the mountains.
