Barrett Jackson today

FYI if you look up BJ Saturday "5000" list you'll find some nice cars including the 959 Porsche and Gable's Gull wing and Arbuckle's Pierce Arrow and many other very interesting cars. Just so you don't miss it, if you're interested. Good luck bidding. These three should draw some BIG numbers!

Above three cars numbers are: Gable=5001, Fatty=5028 and Porsche=5011

I can't believe the prices some of these cars are getting. A 1970 Olds 442 convertible just sold for $325K. Granted it was nice, but that's beyond insane.

A friend and I went went to Russo and Steele yesterday to check out the offerings (just looking). Tons of 60s muscle cars, a few European examples and plenty of crap. Lots and lots of baby boomers checking stuff out as well.

My favorite was Clark Gable's Gullwing-Failed to hit reserve of 2M but they came back later and announced the sale at 1.85M. Spectacular car.

There are some very nice cars on the consignment list and they brought in some very strong prices.

Problem is that this makes every Cutlass owner think their garage respray is worth 6 figures!

I think it was sad that Jay Leno couldn't get more than he did for the ex-Prez's truck, and for a worthwhile charity, than the Batmobile brought in.

Until said Cutlass owner tries to get more for his car than it's worth. Ask and get are two different things.
