Buy the knife if you want it, Vash...you desrve it as a companion to your axe.

^ that's a very interesting read. It does not mention that the Ulfberht was thought to almost certainly be made from "crucible steel", or damascus steel.

Damascus knives......

Take a look on Gunbroker, lots of them there, even some damascus folders. One style I like is made from a piece of twisted steel cable that is forged flat. There are several of this type sold by Marbles the old gun sight folks. Boker also make a really nice damascus folder. One of my favorites is a damascus bladed Bowie! You can find some deals under $100 or pay as much as you can stand! Takes your pick.

I am descendant from the Samurai. Both sides. I actually posted that stuff so that you might read about the Tamahagane. If you find that I am wrong about something, then it's ok to point it out. I was not trying to insult you, just to point out some misconceptions that you have.

Your lineage is irrelevant. Being Japanese imparts zero knowledge whatsoever.

Read, learn, THEN post.

In the meantime, look up fukure and ware in the context of nihonto. And I strongly suggest you flush your brain of any "knowledge" gained from PBS.

Wait...I think it might...
