Baz, at the very least you'd get stuck for the medical bills. It's along the lines if someone comes on your property legally and gets hurt, you're liable. I can remember a recent case like this where a guy got tired of being ripped off, he rigged a trap and got jailed for his trouble.

The store owner was charged with manslaughter. I don't t remember where this happened.
Pat, might be the one I recall. I heard it explained somewhere that the law was written to protect some innocent person from getting hurt by mistake.

Maybe he thought the sunglasses were the safety glass you spoke of.

I kinda don't think you should post this guys pic on here.

Didn't jesus forgive the thief being crucified with him?

That guy didn't steal $1k worth of Jesus' tools either.

I am sure WD15 would forgive the guy if they were being crucified together, but for now the guy is on the loose and he isn't going to stop unless people go after him for every one of his crimes, petty or not.

I am all for forgiveness, but you need to see remorse as well, otherwise you just reinforce the bad behavior.

Actually, that's what he is claiming. But he has worked for me and I know he knows what safety glasses are. There were actual safety glasses hanging in plain sight on the pegboard behind the work bench. The video shows him leaning over the workbench looking in their direction and picking something up near them. His eyes were 25-30 inches away and his hands were 6 inches away from real safety glasses. So that claim is BS.
You cannot forgive someone who does not admit they did something that requires forgiveness. He has to take the first step and admit his guilt. After that I want my stuff back. Then maybe forgiveness is possible.

Jesus forgave the thief who admitted that he had done wrong and was deserving of his punishment. Sounds like this POS is just getting started. Sorry about your luck, sounds like time for a new temp agency.

What a white trash POS.

These so-called "petty" thefts are enough to drive you crazy. We've had thug crews break into our business several times and steal flat screens--by hanging off of them until the lags pull about an acre of gyp board from the wall behind them. Not to mention that the doors they break to gain entry cost three times as much as the flatscreens themselves.

At least the responding officers in our fine city have offered some sage advice: "don't put the TVs back up".

The kicker is when the cops then asks me if I have a CCP for the weapon I am carrying. All I can think of is that NOW he decides to be a cop, rather than any of the times my business has been violated.

Yep--the hood rats have the upper hand and they know it.

Dogs. Very big, hungry dogs that don't belong to you and you didn't know were on your property.

Well what if I happen to be a collector of vintage bear traps. I have a lot of them in various stages of restoration. Some are open to make sure the springs don't get stuck. Seems legal to me.

my house have been broken into 11 times over the years. I've lost so much every time I just gave up and quit buying nice stuff for someone else to take. long ago I had stereo systems that cost more than my car. go out of town for a weekend and it's gone when I get home. twice! guns, tv, money, tools.. less and less to steal after each time so now a thief would be wasting his time breaking in. quit replacing stolen items over the years and now there's not much but the basic necessities here now. someone broke the lock on my work trailer last year and stole my transit and other tools that I need on the job so those were replaced but now kept locked in my shop. with all the junk I have in there, someone could haul off a couple trailer loads if they ever got in. if I ever catch someone stealing my stuff.. you'll be seeing me in the news.. the funny thing is I'd probably give or loan them anything if they just asked me.

well, I lived a pretty wild life back then ...crazy wild...and many times we'd leave the bar at daylight and continue the party at home. too many strangers saw inside my house and knew I wouldn't be there most nights. seldom locked the door anyway but they always broke in thru a window behind the house. I'm pretty sure it was someone I knew most times and once or twice I found out who they were.. as they were bleeding and trying to get up from the ground I believe they realized I wasn't too happy with them

I know for a fact it's illegal in Arizona. Some of the cases that have gone through our court system are downright stupid. I recall many years ago, some thief falling through a skylight in someone's building and then suing the person for their injuries/pain and suffering, etc. They won.
