Yes, all oil based.

Crown isn't nailed to the ceiling or ceiling joist (better) so gravity is pulling it down. Your wall isn't settling. A regular painter's chalking was used without adhesive. Pry the crown open a little, squeeze paintable adhesive chaulking in there and shoot a couple nails at an angle into ceiling through the crown, patch and paint.

The pictures are bad, the molding is not pulling away from the ceiling. Everything is moving towards the wall.

In the second picture I am holding the penny to the ceiling, and the gap is how far back the bookshelf has moved.

Take a pic of the frontal view of the bookshelf for me. It maybe that the bookshelf itself is sagging due to the weight without enough support. It has a face frame, so that in itself is strong, much stronger then without due to the long length. How many dividers area in the middle of this big bookshelf? Middle solid support is what makes a long cabinet strong.

Have someone pull a string or a straight edge along or near the bottom of the cabinet, just right under face frame to see if there's any sag.

I can't really see what's inside the top or the ceiling of the cabinet. It looks like a few cleats and nails (or screws) are holding up the entire front of the cabinet through the face frame. check if there's a belly or sag on the bottom to determine if its moving (it should be dead nuts with no sag). It lacks vertical support or panels that I can see in your pic. They act like a spine.

Was the upper section built on site?
