I can see this being the last time at the Opera House.
Napa Community college just finished building a new state-of-the-art performaing arts center that would more than accommodate this festival. The Opera House has a cool history and is an interesting venue, but the college has better access, parking, seating... Everything. KT

Why would I do that? The festival director told me. I saw the union t-shirts. This was about a two minute delay, not some outrageous infringement on labor law. The place needed to be empty by 11:00pm. Four to six guys can stack 20 chairs, break down two risers, move some music stands and coil up a handful of microphone wire in a few minutes. ( Which they did ) KT

If it was 10:35 and we started another tune, that would be a whole different thread, wouldn't it?

Defend to the death!
Always the mantra of the unionista. It is usually a strong indication that they know they are wrong. |

I guess Jackson Browne was wrong; the union does mind if you take a little time and leave it all behind and play one more song.

Every example of union behavior I've ever heard of, witnessed and seen on the news paints them and their mentality as world class Aholes who care about no one but themselves. I am a professional healthcare employee whom treats patients daily, with respect and compassion. Perhaps we should collectively start screening pt's re: if union or nonunion, so we may treat them as they treat others. What goes around comes around.
VOTE ACCORDINGLY. |

if a non union person is held responsible, will you proceed to hate non-union people?
ie: yourselves. get a life. |

No mention of hatred, just experienced rude behavior.

Ironic you would say that because unions are a direct form of marxism. From each according to his ability, to each according to his need (or needs).
Unions say all (union) workers are equal regardless of skill or contribution and must be treated equally. Competion breeds differences in performance levels which identifies different levels of value and contribution, so competition is allowed in the union world. Exceptionalism is forbidden.

I really do not see this being a union issue. 10:30 end time scheduled, 10:30 end time kept. Union or non union, you could get the same result...
![]() I've finally done a trade show in a non-union environment, sooo soooo soooo sooooooooooooooooo much nicer, but in this case, its the fault of the people putting on the event giving a 10:30 cut off, when all the songs from all the musicians and stage switch out time goes past 10:30...

This thread is about people being inconsiderate to a group of people performing for the benefit of children's music programs.
Would they have done the same thing if they had a child of their own on stage? Or were they just making a statement that, "nobody's going to infringe on my time"? KT

On the other hand, if this event was staffed by college students ( like when we have our concerts at the college theater ) this would not have happened.
We likely could have gone overtime to complete our set without upsetting anyone... KT
